Well i went down to the local stereo shop and was talking to the guy about designing a new slot ported box for me. I just wanted a normal square box with a slot port. Now this is my current setup:

now it looks to be a pain to build...but he says it is a true slot port. plus its only 2 cuft of airspace for the sub and the rest i port so i get some of my trunk back..what you guys think?..phil
Looks like a bandpass box to me. You've got the sealed box behind the woofer, and the ported half in front. I would think that it would be crazy loud, but I don't know about construction. That's alot of angles to work with. Plus, I'm not sure how it would sound with the direction the airflow would take. That's alot of bends for the air to move as well.
I may not know much about cars, but I know two things....
1) Breaking things is expensive, and
2) Horsepower isn't cheap.
