Alternator Size

I need a new Alternator for my cavalier as my new system drains the battery like crazy, I found a 160 amp alternator but I dont no if it would make much difference. What size is the stock alternator and will this new one help out that much?

How old is your battery? If your system is draining the battery it might be worn out and not holding a proper charge.

try installing 0-4 guage wire to amp and at least a 1farad or better capistor (stinger). you may want to get a larger alternator ( 150-200 amp) with a small pulley from a good rebuilder ($150 to $200). This is the best way. Unless you put in a battery isolator and second battery( I prefer stinger batteries red engine, yellow stereo). One for engine and one for stereo.
