Remember this is my first attempt and I wanted to do it on a high res photo to get my best chances at getting it! First of all I used this pattern listed below for both he mesh and the c/f! I'm doing the work in CS2 and while the pic was at resolution 2592x1894 the mesh looks perfect. I decrease it down so i can post it on here and it looks like shiot! SO whatever on that! Just want general opinions and maybe some tips to get it to look better. Thanks!

hood needs a bit of work. def should NOT be usign the same pattern as your mesh.

The mesh looks great, the hood needs work. Add more contrast and some color, carbon fiber isn't black and white. Good job in general though, I've seen carbon way worse. Also, play around with the blur and sharpen tools on the hood to add some perspective shading, and maybe try playing with blending modes.
Need to distort the mesh so its at the same perspective as the car. And the CF pattern is too big. Shrink it, and use distort and perspective to lay it flat against the hood.
You know what that picture really tells me you need to do?
Put a CF hood on your car!
