It occurred to me the other day that with all the time I've spent on CL checking for cheap Cavaliers, I've never seen a 4 door with a 5 speed.
Does anyone here have one or know of one?
Just curious coz I have a 96 2 door 5 speed & got 42 MPG with it recently on a long trip & was thinking that it sure would be nice if the 5 speed came in a 4 door model.
hard to come by, but they are out there
They are out there... VERY hard to come by though.
The swap wouldnt be too hard to switch to a manual tranny. just have to have some time and the conversion parts.
I am looking for struts for my newly aquired Eibach pro-kit performance coils, If anybody has some?
yours is different sir. i am sure he was not looking for a z24 or lss. i do love it though.
Hmmm, OK. I was just curious since I have never seen one. Maybe they were special order?
I've seen a few over the years... plus had one myself, just sold it recently.
2 people in a club that I am in have/had them. I believe one was a 97 and the other is an 02
there pretty common in ontario most were really base and had the 2200 but 03-05 there were a few i know a couple people with them. one was just here in my driveway its an 03 dark grey sedan its so base that i think he had to have the dealer install the steering wheel when he bought it but hey its been an awesome car considing he paid 12 000 plus tax for it

Minneapolis Craigslist, there's one advertised right now (I think they want around 1500)
I know of a fair number of them. Steve-o has an eco, dxdean 3 has 2 base sunfires, and there are a lot of others around here.
I've worked on a bunch over the years. Actually just worked on a 95 Sunfire 4 door that was a 5 spd with a 2.3. I was definately surprized when i pulled this one into my bay...

mine is a 95 2.2OHV with 285k miles. It's in the garage all torn apart for bigger exhaust, cold air box, moving the battery to the trunk, and installing a rear suspension from a 00 Z24.

I've had 2 so far. have had the option to get many more too.
I need a new sig.
I have a 2003 5spd. 4 door. I love it. People are surprised when I tell them it is a manual because of the 4 doors. I just tell them if BMW can do it, so can Chevy!
My car is just the base model.
My wife had a '02 LS Sport Sedan 5 speed...... till I stuffed it into a bridge.....
even more rare, 5 speed Alero's

I would LOVE to find a 5 speed Alero or Grand Am. I only ever saw one N-Body 5 speed in the newest body style, an 02 Grand Am coupe with an Eco. I don't think they ever made a 5 speed 4 door.
