Will a 1997 Grand Am 2.4L (LD9) engine and 5 speed tranny fit into a 1997 Cavalier Rally Sport that had a 2.2L engine? What all will have to be changed? Will it need a different computer? Any help is appreciated, searched the forums but couldnt find an exact answer.

You'll need the engine, transmission, computer and the engine wiring harness for sure. You may need to find a Cavalier engine wiring harness, I don't think the plugs are the same on the N-body.

If you've got a 5 speed already... it's a bolt-in affair. If you currently have an automatic.. you need to do the 5-speed swap which requires cutting and welding.

The Rally Sport with the 2.2 has a 5 speed manual tranny.
