fuel problems

Its been going on for quite some time and we cant figure out what it is but its getting worse now. I got a 96 cavy with 243k on it. It runs fine besides the fact that when i start it sometimes, i need to pump the gas a little and hold it for a bit once it starts otherwise itll die. also when i take off its slow to react at first and then itll be normal. It does that through every gear. Ive replaced the fuel pump, pressure regulator, injector seals and still nothing seems to work. I also have a leak on my 4th injector that i just cant get to go away. Ive gone through injector seals quite a bit, especially on the 4th injector. What do you think may be wrong? I replaced the bracket that slides around the injectors and the fuel pressure regulator slides into but that didnt fix it. The old one was bent.

The hesitation might not completely be a fuel issue. I have driven around (well, from a buddys house back to mine) with a seriously leaking injector (went home to get a new seal). The only problem I had was I went through a lil extra fuel lol.

I have torn new seals when trying to install them before. I have learned that getting them wet (I use fuel) to lubricate them before you install the injector helps a LOT. Is the injector itself physically (on the outside) in good shape? If its cracked or chipped itll leak. What about the fuel rail?

I would check other things as well, fuel filter, spark plugs (wires), PCV (if the motor has), air filter. All the basic maintenance stuff.

It doesnt sound like a difficult fix.

Good Luck
