its a serious piece of crap at this point ive had to replace coil packs numerous times and now its turning off my cd player and my gauge cluster goes nuts and lights up like crazy... i haven't done anything new to the car before these problems started. i cleaned the battery terminals and grounds. its a 2.4L any ideas please help me....
Try checking the radio wiring. If there are bare wires make a connection it can cause your dash to do odd things and might be causing your radio to turn off. I installed a radio about two years ago and last week my gauges would all drop to zero and the odometer would read "error". After some research I pulled the radio out and taped all the wires that weren't in use and had bare copper on them. It stopped after that.
Also, right before I pulled the radio, i smacked it a few times (its just a cheapo radio) and it was causing the gauges to glitch.
If that isn't it, I have no idea.
Get your altenator checked, the old mans truck did that and it turned out to be because of a resistor sorting out.
well i got a new alternator and optium red top battery and it was my old aalt. it shorted out the machine at the advance auto where i got it checked but thanks guys
when an alt goes it does crazy things
