Well this is not my car but a friend of mine.96 cavalier coupe 2.2ohv (5spd if that matters).The car starts and idles fine but when you give it throttle in gear it will only run for a couple seconds than stumbles and finally dies.Now I'm not to sure but it seems like a fuel prob.The only thing that makes me think otherwise is that it starts and idles fine.Could it be the fuel filter or possibly a sensor of some sort.Any help is very appreciated because this is his only transport to work and we are trying to fix it tomorrow and I thought it would be a good idea to consult people who know this stuff.

Do you have a dart board and some darts.

Not enough info, Its hard enough to diag problems, its even harder on the net so you need to .....
You need to tell us if the engine light is on, how many miles on it, does he maintenance it reg, any add on mod parts, If have you tried to do anything to fix it.
Post up some more info for us and we'll se what we can come up with.
