I found a cavalier z24 locally that was in a front end crash. Damage to the drivers fender the hood and bumper and rad support. The engine has around 220,000 kms on the engine. Would it be worth while to buy the car for the engine and trans to swap into my car? My car only has 160,000 kms. How hard would the swap be, im guessing not that hard. Would i need to swap the radiator? It may be damaged.

ok.....wait. You want to take your engine that has 160k out and replace it with the one that has 220k???
Not worth it at all IMO. Just save your time and trouble and deal lol

The owner say the trans wsas replaced, and only has about 160,000 kms, and the motor was replaced before he bought it, and assumes it has lower mileage. Says it runs good. I will be going to see it friday. The car is a 99, mines a 96. My engine needs work too. It leaks coolant like crazy as of a few days ago, and the power steering needs new lins. That would be 100 times easier to do with no engine in the way.

Nice looking car btw. I really like it. I know a Matthew Collier from over that way some where. Maybe a cousin or something.

Well give it a shot, do you want the drivetrain or the whole car?
If it's the whole car you can sell it off in parts, the stuff you don't need.

Yeah, he is selling the whole car, everything is good except what i said in the first post. Has the 16 inch rims with new tires, all good glass, ect. I might do it. There is a lot of interest so hopefully he dont sell it before i can get it!

Edit: The rad is leaking. Will the 2.2 ohv rad work with the 2.4?

Yeah, theres a few people on here from around me. Some i know pretty good. You should go in the Canadian north east region forum some times. Its really dead in there. For the amount of people on here, we could have a pretty good forum going.

It should. Im pretty sure it will. Its stainless steel, 4-2-1 design. Looks really good, I haven't installed it yet so its still brand new. I paid a little over 210 when i got it. I dont know if i'll be selling it yet, this time next week i should know for sure.
