cool find

i have been reading here for a while now, i have a 99 jbody, has a bad engine 2.2 or 2200 however you call it.

anyway a car carrier wrecked here recently and the chevy dealer has a 2008 malibu with a 3600 v6 and 6 speed auto that was totaly crushed on the top and side in the wreck, i have no idea if the engine would work for a swap, but it sure sounds like it could be a fun one to try, is it totaly different than the old grand am, ond other v6 engines? I have alot of mods and money put in the car so i need to fix it, but 900 to 1200 for another 2200 seems like i should do somthing better,

help i need advice on what to do with my car.

with enough work and money you can make any engine/tranny fit. not sure about the 3600 personally...but it might be worth a try

after a internet search variable valve timing and i dont know if it has that feature that runs less cylenders on the highway, it might be a bit too advanced for my old car, maybe i will go get a bone yard replacement engine

The 3.6L is a DOHC engine, but still a 60*V6

Best I could find, still has some plastic though:

It does not share the bellhousing of the other 60 Degree engines, though. I believe that engine and that transmission currently only mate to each other and nothing else.

Nope, it'll fit. It's not bigger than the 3800 or 3.5 DOHC, and they definitely fit.

im sure someone will try it, but i think it would be cost prohibitive for me to do that with my old car
