well i searched the forums, so from what i see is it true i can put the newer style starter from the ecotech engine on my 1998 2200 engine. if so is this a good idea

just curious but why would you want to do that? why not just go get another 2.2 starter?
i guess i am after one with gear reduction instead of direct drive, and they are available at the parts store, so i will go with that.
