I have a 3rd gen 03 cavalier with the 2.2L ecotec
I have looked everywhere, and asked everyone wtf is the difference bettween LS and Z22?
The Z22 decal is on the side of my car. It looks all stock, no body kit diff than the LS model, standard windows, no ABS, no AC...
Anyone know? I've heard it was a 'Sport edition' but I dont see any difference... still love my cav though

The Z22 is the factor turbo-charged 2.2L ecotec engine.
They are quicker than the SRT-4

I have never seen a Z22 but have always heard of a 2.2 eco factory turboed cav.Could be I'm ignorant.LOL

Can't say I ever heard of a Factory Turbo on one, but I just called a GM dealer up here in Canada, and they confirmed that the only difference of a Z22 from LS was it had a minor body kit, and the option of different seats...
I have to wonder though, because I never seen any difference from what I can tell... Can anyone else confirm this?

its just dealer rice..its not a z22...get over it
they put the sticker there to hype you up to buy it..just like the " cavalier GT " i saw the other day...with the welded up dummy second muffler...i would take the sticker off if it was me driving it

Its a belt-driven turbo...it looks like an a/c condenser.

Actually now that you meantion it...
When I did my oil change last time, I noticed I had, what I thought at the time, a A/C compressor, but didn't have A/C. I figured they just mass produced them with the condesor on the engine to save money. Does anyone have a picture of what the turbo/supercharger looks like?

i think the z22 came with the rwd conversion too and tubed front end.
The Z22's up here in ohio were from 95-99, and had razzi body kits on them. Yes there where dealer rice.

i have ECOTEC 2.2 stickers on the side of my car and they didnt come from the factory with them it is the dealers way of trying to make more money they tried telling me it was a "special edition" cavalier because it had the ecotec in a 2002 when all the ecotec in a 2002 meant was it was a ls sport
but in canada im not sure the only factory turbo J i remember was the turbosport and that never made it to production
boost is like ice cream, there's always room for it

yeah... didnt it have stock nitrous as well? and IIRC it also had a full leather interior a stock b&m shifter, but wait... maybe that was on the AWD version.
