okay, so i have a 95 Z24. I took my car to get my a/c fixed, they put a new compressor in and the next day my engine blew up.
I need to know what kind of engine i can put in there that involves the least amount of work, and is the easiest and cheapest to find. I really dont want to deal with this again anytime soon, so im looking for something with a little less miles on it.
I dont care about performance, i just want to drive my car again, im going insane.
It has the 2.3L DOHC, and i cant find another one anywhere!!!!

Well, for starters, the engine in your car was only used for 1995. It was unique due to the balance shafts. 1995 was the only year for the 2.3 with them. You could swap in a 2.4 but you will have to get the pcm from the donor car too. It would be too big of a hassle and expensive to swap in a 2.2/2200 or ecotec.
I have heard of people swapping in the older 2.3 but do not know anyone personally that has.
Try searching to see if there has been a post up for swapping in the older 2.3 or a 2.4.
go search for a quad4 (2.3L) out of an older cavalier (92 or 93+) the old grand ams and olds achievas had the same engines too i believe. you could go get a berreatta GTZ engine aswell. thats the HO 2.3L.
Injection is nice but id rather be BLOWN!
just like whitegoose said...any 88-95 quad 4 will work in your car(and be better) and there are PLENTY out there for cheap..just gotta keep looking man...also try www.car-part.com to help look
Uhm..... dont you still need the PCM with that Quad4?

You don't need the ecm to run the 88-95 quad 4. Even the 2.4 fits.
