Getting pulled over x2

I just wanna say this:

im amazed at the amount of 5-0 attention ive been getting this summer, never before have i been bothered. now, with a body kit, rims, and lowered, and also being a fresh coat of RED, its amazing.

5 times this summer. only one resulted in a ticket. 4/5 of the cops were great guys, seemingly just "looking out for me" letting me know to fix stuff, like tint, liscence plate cover, stupid stuff. the po pos are working hard in the pittsburgh area. i always thought it was a big joke, red cars getting pulleed over more, its not.

I found that having a legal car (ie no tint, proper plates in the right locations) and most importantly... driving with the flow of traffic, not speeding... makes a HUGE difference.

My car is seriously modded... nice and loud too.... but I haven't been pulled over in years....

Lenko is right. That stuff helps a lot.

I dont know where you're driving when you get stopped. But also try to stay out of the left lane whenever possible. The left lane will also be referred to as the 'fast lane' So it's kind of a mindset. If you're in the fast lane, you must be speeding. It attracts attention easier and having the flashy car with body kit and tint doesnt help since the cop has probably seen how those kind of cars were driven in the movies (Fast and Furious). Being in the right lane will also a lot of times help to blend you into traffic better.

Yeah but Lenko, you are old like me! and they are afraid you might hump their police cars as well....

I dont think i've been pulled over at all, i've been followed by cop cars many times because they think that i'm going to street races but when they see me wave to them out my sunroof they just turn off into a parking lot or a side street. Happened a few weeks ago, I dropped my friend off at his house, this was at around 11:30pm and on my way home I notice this car following me so I "go for a tour of the neighbourhood" and sure enough it was a police cruiser. I just stick my hand out the sunroof, politely wave to him, he waved back and he then turned off and we went our separate ways. It was like we knew each other, lol. Rather funny to be honest.

Sorry man, with that many points plus a suspension. I have a hard time believing that you did nothing except speed once...

Yup! I agree
As long as you slow down and don't get in trouble, do the speed limit, keep your car legal you should be alright.
and stay on the right lane unless you are passing a car.
I hate people who just stay on the left lane just because...
and I hate when I'm passing a car on the left lane and somebody pulls behind me real close. why do they do that?

I will go back to the right lane after I pass the damn car, so what's the point of staying so close to my @$$
should I just flip them off?

Well, most of this is good advice. In Wisconsin It's easy to lose your lic. for one ticket, if you're doing over 25 mph over the speed limit. I know many people who just plead it down to a large fine and lots of points like 10 points (12 and you lose your lic.). And then there is the guy who is going way over that on a crowded road or just smarts off to the cop, and they nail his @ss to the wall.

Really driving a red car doesn't really make as much a difference, that body kit, lowered, and other "Street racer look" .

As for not speeding one day I should try that. I've had my red Cav since April , haven't been pulled over once in it. My second gens were a whole another deal as well as being different colors.

I used to drive like a bat outta hell in my green car, and i got one warning and that was because i was doing like 50 in a 35 (late for work). Once i started driving my bright red Z they just flocked, and i even slowed down a bit from when i had my green car.

Haven'y gotten a single ticket in my Cavi. I've talked to cops who come into my work and they all say they'd definently check their radar gun twice if they saw me coming, said my car had "THE LOOK" been 3 years and nothing.

Lenko's right, its NOT just the car its how YOU drive it.

I was pulled over once, had some mild exhaust work done (cat back) and tinted tails. that was the only mod to the car besides a stereo that i did(nothing crazy either and i dont listen loud), got nailed for my Tinted windows (i bought the car with the tint on the windows) found out that night it was 8% tint and that was that... from now on its legal all the way.

Couldn't agree more. I don't think its the car as much as it's the driver.

bingo! thats what it is. its all in the driver. my car isnt flashy at all. black, stock looking, only exterior change is being lowered... and i got my first ticket in april(37 in a 25) then my second one at the begining of this month (42 in a 25) needless to say, i dont drive like a tool anymore and i plan on staying with just 2 tickets on my record... first was before i started modding, and the second was after the fact. its all in the way you drive... and i was driving like an idiot... simple solution... dont drive like an idiot or do/have anything illegal and you wont get in trouble... ive learned my lesson, and i hope it doesn't take anyone else $250 to learn theirs... o AND to show how much NJ really does suck complete and total ASS when it comes to this stuff... i just got a letter in the mail from the state of new jersey, saying i need to pay $150 to the state (in addition to the money already spent on tickets) because ive gotten more than 6 points in a year. can we think of any more ways to screw people outta money?! i haven't been pulled over in a long time keep with the flow of traffic do not have my car on the police radar mostly stock. 3 time i was going a little faster than the speed limit and the police in the speed trap just flagged me to slow down and did not pull me over. I guess i was going a little fast but not racing a head of everyone. Had another car that going the same speed as me once but because it was a little more out there they got pulled over and not me.

Dam Zack I "flew through" Kentucky a few years ago, I had no trouble with the cops. But, my Ex-girlfriend's mom got one for 2 miles an hour over the limit one morning. The cop said that for months he watched her drive down the road they lived on every weekday morning going 57mph and he was tired of it.
i got got a ticket once for going like 10mph over. I was in the middle of a line of like five to eight cars, I was singled out driving a stock height, half ton, two wheel drive truck only mods where 16" wheels ( not Mags just steel rims) and a box rack! It made no sense I guess it was just a bad day to be me.

So yeah drive sane, with no illegal mods, be nice to the cop and you have nothing to worry about. Unless the cop is already in a bad mood if that's the case take the ticket with a smile then fight it in court.

I've had 2 cavi's. the 1st i had for 4 years was a 2200 w/ the 3speed auto, black, ss hood, lowered blue window tint(don't ask) and i got a total of 3 speeding tickets and several loud stereo tickets. my other(current) cavi is a Z24 manual, black primer, full body kit, lowered, etc. I've had it for a year and some months and the only ticket I've gotten,so far(knocks on wood) is a ticket for "improper exhaust"(which is a loud of BS).

i think reason i got more tickets in the slower cavi has nothing to do with car itself, but me as the driver at the time. i was young and made some stupid choices(and the fact i look way younger than i actually am, doesn't help). now, with the MUCH faster and extremely modded Z24, you would think I'd get more tickets. but i am a much more experienced driver, more mature and wiser. plus, the fact the i have a wife and soon to be a daddy(any day now), definitely makes think about the choices i make.

colors do play a small role in this subject. there has been many tests ran that prove that colors have an effect on the human psyche. cops DO pull over yellow, red, etc, color car more.

but ultimately it's the driver. stay within legal limits, keep the car legal, and follow some of the suggestion above and you eliminate most of the possibilities. granted you will get the cop that is having a bad or is trying to profile you(which, i think is the situation with my exhaust ticket), but there is nothing you can do about that.

just my $0.02

Only tickets I have gotten that show up are for running a stop sign and no insurance. I was out in BFE and rolled through a stop sign and had just got the car running so had no insurance. As for red being more likely to get a ticket, I dont believe that cause from time to time I show my azz in my 2nd gen, its red with a black roof and hood, lowered, 17s, loud exhaust, 5% tint with massive front strip on windsheild and I only get into trouble when Im showing out. When I drive normal the cops just wave and smile. But of course I know most of them too lol.
