Kyb Agx Adjustable Shocks and Struts

I have bought Kyb Agx and installed them on my car. I read there is a break in on them and also read there isn't. Obviously the numbers stand for harder or softer, am I not correct? My front rang from 1-4 and my rear rang from 1-8. No papers or anything came with them when I bought them on any of the number ratings. My question is are certain number basically setting for a certain way your going to be driving the car? For example if I'm taking it to the drag strip what numbers would I have them set at or If I'm just daily driving what numbers would I have them set at?

Well I keep mine on the stiff settings all the time when I drive on the street (4 in the front and 8 in the rear). When I go drag racing I sometimes soften the front to 1 (other times I just leave it on 4). I like a stiffer ride with a firm response so I enjoy it on the highest settings but everyone likes it different. Try a setting and see how you like it and adjust from there.

If you run them all on 1, does it feel stock?

I suppose. Never done it though. I can say that I have forgot to change my front back to 4 (left it on 1) and had the back on 8 and you can really tell the difference. The front is very soft and almost floats and the back was nice and firm.

I go 3 front 5 rear..... any higher and the rear seems to feel like it slams down after a bump. Repeated ripples in the road had it feeling too uncontrolled, imho. This is on prokit with the AGXs. Setting it lower had it feeling close to stock..... just take a drive and stop and change the settings until you find what you like, it doesn't take long. Just don't burn your arm on the muffler trying to change the settings

Typically 2 and 4 myself, I did 1 and 2 or 3 once and the front was too bouncy, but the rear rode well with 2 or 3 on a long trip.
