Coil overs for 3rd gen cavi...
Wednesday, April 01, 2009 11:45 AM
I had ordered some coil overs for my cavalier, and what seemed to fit my OEM struts "that were messed up and had to be replaced" didn't fit the oem struts I bought at a junk yard.

I know the cavaliers/sunfires have pretty much the same suspension, and was wondering if there was a lowering kits out there for the 03-05 model cuz coil overs really wont cut it for me at this point.

coil overs + stock struts = bad

read the suspension FAQ's. It has a lot of good info

95-05 is the same. and don't lower your car on stock struts at all. also "good" coilovers cost money....big money. i am assuming you got some cheap one or "universal"

yeah fortunatley ebay coil overs, although they wouldn't fit the shocks/struts that I replaced on my car so I had to return them.

well what do you recommend? when I look on cardomain I always see people saying they have an "RKsport lowering kit" or whatever...

I know eibach has a pro/sports kit for like 200 but those are just springs is that worth it?

just springs and yes they are pretty much what you want.

struts run like 300-500 a set though (keep that in mind)

alot to read but take a look

alright thanks the eibach pro kit sounds nice for my car then the springs should even it out right cuz I hate the fact that the back sticks up.

Make sure you get a good set of struts with those. When you have it all apart it's also a good idea to replace the strut mounts.

With the pro-kit I would recommend getting struts like the kyb agx's which can handle up to a 1.5 inch drop.
