anyone have there kit? I was looking into the rear discs from the them and had some questions, what do they do with brake lines? how are those calipers connected to the brake lines? factory line threads in? factory line into an adapter that threads in? no line from the axle back? how does the parking brake work? stock e-brake cables or have to swap them? how do you liek them? any other thought about them?

I did. I sold the car. I have the new owners telephone number. If you want I will ask him if it is alright if I give his number to you. I am 99% sure he will be cool with it. He could easily answer these ?s for you and email you pics.

does he know anything about whats on there?
He can crawl under the car and look, but otherwise not really.

I just checked out that link. Seems like a fair price. Not sure why it must be used with the front? I guess that is why you would want to email them if interested. Have you already done that?

I just copied this from the SSBC site. I am not sure if it matters to anyone but it looks like it would cost you another 100 if you wanted them powdercoated if you did not buy from SSBC
Special Offer FREE caliper powder coating - over a $100.00 value! (Must order direct from SSBC and mention code DISC-013.)

yeah I kinda did the opposite... I got the Neon brackets and stuff through the GP, and then started buying the parts to make it all work, hawk pads with some powerslot rotors, new calipers etc... I don't want used brake stuff so I got everythign new and by the time all was said and done I was $500 into the rear disc conversion for a 10" solid non vented rotor with almost no surface area becasue of the internal drum for the parking brake that doesn't work with the 04 cables, the pads are so small they are almost look useless. Plus I started to take apart and test fit everything without doing the lines yet and its just so cheap, people were using washers behind the rotor to space the rotor out wards so it wouldn't rub on the backing plate
yeah... not for me. $500 deep I needed some spacers machined for the rotors and e-brake cables off an older J or a Neon..... I sold all that crap and deceided to use that more towards the Wilwods.
or for a couple hundred more I can get a 12" X 1" vented rotor that sloted with a decent sized caliper and a single somewhat large piston all in a kit thats meant for J's.... no spacing the rotor away from the hub with washers LOL. It should match up well with the WIlwoods
So pendings people reviews and more info this is what I'm going with.
and before anyone recomends the Daytona rears... I already know about it and no I'm not gonna go that route
yea i hear you about the neon rears. the only thing that held me back from the ssbc rears is the rotors. i want something that is going to match my baer fronts and i cant get another rotor to put on the ssbc's to make it match
SSBC kits for $695 shipped from Never Enough Auto.
I would like to have somehtign to match the wilwoods but in all honestly it really doesn't matter to me, I'd rather it work better then match better.
The neon swap was never meant to be cheap if you wanted all new parts, especially overly expensive parts like the powerslot rotors. I found me some good calipers at the yard, cleaned up the cake off them, put in new seals ($5) and they were good as new.
Also, the washer thing isn't that big of a deal. Its only one set. And as for the "decent sized caliper", it is....for stock j front brakes.
PS: my daytonas = teh siht.

I never said it was surpossed to be cheap... when the cost gets up that high its not worth it for what you get

I have had SSBC's rear kit on my Cav for about 4 years now. SSBC supplies you with new brake lines that connect to the fitting on the rear axle when you take the stock lines off. The new lines with the kit have a banjo fitting that connects to the rear calipers. The rear calipers are from an 88-91 Lincoln or Mustang, so you have lots of choices for replacement pads. ( I have EBC reds on now ).
There are also new ebrake cables with the kit. At first the e-brake worked too well as they would not release when I pushed the handle down. I had to cut about an 1 inch off of both e-brake brackets and the rears work fine now.

I would also like to have something match my Wilwood fronts, but I don't feel like messing with something that works. I did find out that you can use an 88 front Fiero rotor with the rest of the kit. All you have to do is fabricate a shorter caliper bracket

thank you for the info... one more question, the part of the brake line thast gets replaced with the new stuff.. there are 2 connections at the axle, one of each side of the rubber flex section, does it replace the rubber flex line?
No, the rubber line remains. No idea why though.

thanks alot for your help, I apreciate it a ton. Last question for real hahah
any complaints? overall how do you like them?
Does anyone know why it says you must have the fronts too? My thoughts are that it might cause the rears to lock up easier under hard breaking with stock fronts but I wonder if there is another reason?
FORGET GIRLS GONE WILD WE HAVE GOVERNMENT SPENDING GONE WILD!
I'm guessing it is all because of the brake bias. With stock fronts and rear disks under hard braking the rear will lock fist.
I do not see any other reason.
