the rims w/o tire are 11 or 13 pounds cant remember. if you look at the differance between the driver and passenger side i fliped the strut mount on the top side of the tower instead of the bottom. thanks man

my problem is, was the mount designed to take that kind of weight flipped like that?

the mount would be able to hold the weight, the most pressure would be on the hardware, which is an easy fix if you werent convinced that the nuts and bolts were strong enough for the job.

And some ppl don't understand our need to go faster.

Even though i'm more into suspension meant for handling the laying frame is pretty cool too.

What about dremeling out the underlying section of the hood for the strut mount to slide into when the hood shuts?

Basically tubbing the hood.

I'm gonna have to wait until I get my drag blocks smaller before I attempt to flip my mount.

...

because it is hitting the outter skin of the hood cant cut anything out but put like bubbles in the hood. we were thinking like lil i mean lil eclipse bubbles or something. but im gonna wait because i want 20's and need to lay on 20's so i will deal with that when i get my rims.

as for the brakes those will get upgraded eventually

The only fix I can see, is grinding down that little lip on the shock tower. What size are the new bolts?
I might have to attempt this mod, sometime this week.

if you grind that off your losing that much lowering. the high the mount the lower the car will be basicly.

if you grind the top of the strut off, the car sits lower.... its already been explained once.

To get the car to sit lower, you need to extend the strut towers, or shorten the strut assembly.

I say uni-body drop Cut the tops of your strut towers off, cut 2 holes in the hood for the strut towers to go threw. Add about 1/2" to 3/4" to the length of the strut tower.... and TADA! Uber low cavy Although, you will have to tub the rear more, and do a bag over axle style (like a truck) or build your own 4 link. Then cut the piss outta the trunk floor. And probably go to a fuel cell.

Lotta work, but would be cool as hell.

good common sense answer let me explain it slowly for the challenged people who like to just do bolt-ons. grind the top of the strut to clear the hood. an impact will spin that nut off no problem with out having to hold it.

the k member hits the ground without the z24 front laying lloks like your gonna need to tube the front to lay that @!#$ out. its not as hard as you would think and when you redo the lower control arm mounts you will gain more drop. only down fall you still only get 7 in of lift a good ride heights gonna be to low to turn still on 20s

see i have already thought of all this thanks all for heping. as for grinding the nut off and a impact will take it off thats the problem. on my pass side the nut is stuck on there and i dont have the lil nub on there anymore

Re: ok so i tried the spydarwizard method!!
