Hey all im looking into doing my brakes and i have a few questions:
1. How big a kit can i get to fit my stock 16" wheels?
2. Should i go with a rear conversion or just upgrade my front brakes?
3. Are there any kits with front and rear disc upgrades that will work with stock 16's?
Whats up people?
upgrade wise do you mean a big brake kit? if so i dont think any bbk will fit 16" rims. i know baer calls for a 17" rim minimum.
now if your talking just slotted and cross drilled rotors w/ better pads then yea they will fit
Just about any rear disc conversion should work with stock 16's. It's the front kits that often exceed that. Most of the 12" kits fit in SOME 16's but you'll need to download a template to test if they'll fit YOUR 16's.
What are your goals here? If all you want is better than stock braking, try going with better pads and rotors and see what you think.
If you want MUCH better than stock braking, go with a big brake kit. If you can't afford to do all corners, start with the front and get the back later.
Most of the braking is in the front so that's where you need to concentrate. The back is more just bling for everyday driving.
1. How big a kit can i get to fit my stock 16" wheels?
don't think kits are made that would fit in 16in, think bear and otehr company say at least 17in or bigger to work
2. Should i go with a rear conversion or just upgrade my front brakes?
its up to you. you can do a neon swap for the read
3. Are there any kits with front and rear disc upgrades that will work with stock 16's?
dont think so, but i could be wrong
1. All the BBK specifically state what they will, or will not fit. Most even come with printable templates so you get an idea for aftermarket wheels. Most do not fit 16" stockers.
2. How badly do you need to stop? Daily Drivers will not benefit or notice a rear upgrade.
3. I'm not aware of any "kits" per-say. But the
Neon Swap is becoming very popular for the rear. For the front many simply use better rotors (slotted, drilled, zinc, etc)
lol dang alot of responses fast!!.
Yeah.. We're all on here.
lol i think everyone responded to that once.
^ no kidding.. well alot of input
