Ive got an 88 Sunbird turbo running 12 lbs of boost with my stock 2 Bar map.......ive already bought a 3 Bar map so i can run more boost......

My question is.......what do I need to do to make a 3 bar map work on this car........can i just plug and play on this car becuase it takes very little to keep these computers happy? Or do i need to to calibrate the my computer to accept the 3 bar?

agreed, the ecm needs to be told it has a 3 bar map hooked to it. the map sensor works off 5 volt refference. on a 1 bar sensor 0-5 volts is -14.5 to 0 psi. with a 2 bar map, 0-2.5 is -14.5 to 0psi, and 2.5 volts to 5 volts is 0 to 14.5 psi. same idea with a 3 bar sensor, different voltage scale. if you hook a 3 bar up to a 2 bar program, it will be way out of wack.
