Few questions about my '94 Sunbird..
Friday, June 22, 2007 6:39 PM
So we've been talking about making the Pontiac look nice, for a first-ish car. And I have a few questions..

1. How big should I go with wheels? I want them to look good, but not too big or too small.

2. I plan on taking the badges off, are their holes or is it just adhesive holding them on?

3. Does anyone have a problem with the dashboard kind of popping up, out of where it was from factory? I don't have a pic, the car isn't up here at the moment.

4. About how much some decent (Suggestions?) lowering spring run me? And would I need to replace any other suspension components, or will the be fine?

Thanks!
jack

1. 16-17 inches is about as big as you should go...anything bigger just doesnt look right

2. Are your side moldings the big plastic-like one or the thin stripe style? If the thin, its just glue. If the big ones, then I think there are tabs...

3. The dashboard thing is a common problem with Sunbirds...few fixes for it known to man.

4. Canuck Motorsport Springs are a great drop, send you about an inch and a half closer to the ground. I had em on my car...

1. How big should I go if I'm not getting the springs? $230 is a little steep for something that I can leave out for the time being. I just don't want to make it look like a 4x4, lol.

2. The badgings.. or emblems, I mean like the ones that say "Sunbird" and the one in between the headlights on the picture of your car.

3. So I'm guessing that means it'll have to stay that way? Or could you link me to a write-up on how to fix it?

Funny. And true. Not too many ways to fix that puppy.

Alright, I just have two more questions I need answered..

The exhaust seems to be hanging really weird. I have no idea if this is normal, but is there a way to 'tuck' it? I think I need a new one because it is hanging, how big do I need it?

And how big of wheels can I go with without going bigger than stock + tires? I want some nice wheels, but would like to retain stock ride height, or even a bit lower (Could that.. happen? Or would it leave a lot of wheel gap). It's ugly when people do it like that, there's all that wheel gap or looks like a 4x4

I got the springs for $150 on v6z24 from another member

The SUNBIRD badges on the side and rear can be peeled off and the glue removed. The arrowhead on the front is just the same way, unless you have flipup headlights, in which case it has a nut/screw combo...

Some people have had luck with gorilla glue, but it didnt work for me...some people screw it down, some people just stick something in there...
