I bought this car for 20 bucks from a buddy with toooo many cars right. Well it had seen better days as far as how it ran. I did the odvious to it gutting the cat and giving it a tune up. I also put 93 octane with injector cleaner in it. It still runs like $h!t. She is the slowest 2.8 ever seen, and its the 2nd gen 2.8 in an 89 grand prix. I know its not a J but it still has a motor like the early Js. Any help would be nice guys thanks.
Yea a description of whats going on would help. Car is running bad is not gonna help us know what the problem is.
Check your spark plug wires for shorts. its common around the area next to the alternator/power steering pump between the intake plenum and the acessories (lots of rubbing, etc) to fray the spark plug wires. Also, the DIS module below the 'front' exhaust manifold should be hooked up correctly.
This image will stop working shortly as i've discontinued the domain name... if you need it again, let me know i'll put it up on another site. Ensure your wires are connected as shown here, as it *will* run the other way, just extremely badly.
Also check for vaccum leaks, they all stem from the top of the throttlebody (near where the intake hose ends) on the top. there are either 3 or 4 lines. Look for leaks!

Thanks guys but I found the problem, The motor is just wore out, it has 280xxx miles on it and it look to have burnt valves. If you guys know where I can find a motor for cheap that would be cool
2.8 and 3.1 engines are identical for the most part -- only the exhaust manifolds really changed between cars, as well as minor parts of the wiring harness. (trust me, easy swap)... one of these can be had for as cheap as $100, probably less, as they're a dime a dozen at the local scrapyard

lol my engine is the only thing of value of my car. lol -- it will leave the vehicle when the vehicle is 'finished' and will bring another small car to life afterwards.
