im just wondering what possible ways there are to ruin your engine compouter. I have 2 engine compouters for my 89 sunbird turbo but neither of htem throw codes up on the gauge nor well work for that matter ive tried every possible remedy that i can think of and read about int he manual aside from replacing the computers.

the only tell tale sign the ecm is dead is the check engine light will flicker rappidly when you turn the key on.

what problems are you having with the car??? what codes do you have???

You mean smoke rolling out from the injector drivers is fine??

There are other signs... sometimes the circuit board will develop problems from cold solder joints. This isn't really very common anymore, but you'd get all sorts of strange issues. The real telltale is that tapping on the ecm case while the car is running causes the engine to stall.

With 2 ecm's behaving badly I'd expect the problem is somewhere else.

well, im all exhausted out of ideas, the only thing that ocmes to mind is the car is on dollies right now. otherwise i might have to bring it into a garage.........
