I don't know if this is common knowledge, but you can get a dash-protecting Dashmat for any and all J-bodies.

I was looking for one, ordered one there for my 83 Skyhawk and a day later got an email saying: "It'll take longer because we have to custom-make it." But the cost didn't go up ($38, I think) and I got it in three weeks. Not bad!

The dash on my Wagon is in absolute perfect condition, but I've actually considered purchasing one of these just to keep it that way. I just don't like the idea of sticking velcro on my dash to hold the cover down..

Yeah - I agree - I'm a little unhappy about that myself. I know that 3M makes some sticky stuff that's SUPPOSED to come off easily, so maybe I'll try that first instead. I'll post before and after pics when I get the dash mat on there, probably later this week. The darn car's in the shop now.
