I would for the manual trans set up. If it were 1500 miles north and about $500.00 cheaper. Do the 89 jbodys use a hydraulic clutch?

Yes. But that trans won't bolt to a 60deg pattern. It will only bolt to a 2.0 OHC. Not sure if you were planning on that or not, just throwing the info out there.

The Brown 84 Cav I have has a transplanted 2.2 in it from a 92. It is presently an auto trans. Can I convert the auto to a manual with the hydraulic clutch setup if I get a donor car? Or do I have to go with the 1st gen cable setup that came Cavs in 84? With minimal fabrication and just bolt it on.
That tranny won't work for you John, the starter is on the firewall side.
OK, Got it now. One more question. Do I need to change the computer if I do the swap?
