3 coats to shine it?It does look cherry but normally 1 coat is more than enough to protect it.I am a clean freak (severe ocd) since like forever.I have found after almost 27 years of waxing, polishing and stuff one coat can last about 1-3 months depending on climate, and if car sits outside that factors in.If it sits indoors and or covered (waterproof) outside the wax will keep a solid bead for a good while. The only products I use are meguairs and stick with the professional grade in a tan bottle.I use the #26 canuaba mostly and solid shine, easy of use,and kinda steep on price around 14.00 a bottle but worth it.Polishes do not last too long if ride is outside and uncovered(less than a month for beading water) but wow mequiars deep crystal is spot on and in a burgendy bottle for around 8.00.Enough of my clean techniques and yes your car is super sweet looking and assume you do garage it.Mines garaged since 07 but prior outside and waterproof cover(yes there are some and pricey they are) but do alot more than the typical covers at any auto store being those are moisture resistance but if too wet will soak thru and dry and do help with uv rays and dust in general.
Hi Ron, I did want to shine it up. Used Maguires Gold Class wax. Hand applied, rubbed, and orbital polished. Also hit the windows with Rain-X and the rubber/plastic pieces with Armor All (Low Gloss). This car is a daily driver for me but will be stored for the winter. Road salt will never touch her on my watch!
Just a note rain x is good stuff I use it all the time on the big trucks at work I drive.I also recommend actually waxing the glass but suggest either meguairs cleaner wax burgendy bottle or meguairs professional grade #26 tan bottle.Apply a light coat cover glass let haze with off with cotton towel then go back over with a chamois to remove hazy swirls this works far better for longer term protection and while rain x in the aeresol is what I use it will wear down quicker. As for blades I have used both anco and micheline blades and pretty good.IDK about going with more dough on the rain x blades or trico or the ridiculous bosch blades(stupid high).Waxing the glass a few times actually prevents water etching from rain but not a every wk thing you need to do.
If you think $14 is expensive for wax, then my $80 small tub would blow your mind with its results. I usually wash, polish, glaze, wax, and then seal it all. Lots of money wrapped up into it but worth every penny.
I quit using rain-x since its alcohol based and windshield wipers are rubber, alcohol and rubber dont mesh well and it eats the wipers up. I just wax the windshield and it works just fine for me. I try to wax mine once the beading starts to turn to sheeting. Then I know its due. With the quick sealant it takes a lot longer for the wax to wear of.
First Gen Z24s are just plain bad-ass.

hmm I've used Rainx for years and never had a problem with wipers then again I use a small amount on a paper towel and not dribble a bunch on the windshield like I've seen other people do lol
Nice job Steve she's a beaut...
LOVE the first gen Z24s...
