Most of you know I baby this car and take good care of her. All scheduled maint. done. Synthetic oil changes every 3,000 miles religiously.

tons of extra interior pieces, extra hood, ANYTHING I can find from a J-body car(a lot, lol). Ill even throw in
all my extra air ride parts. Extra valve, solenoid, air line, extra gauge, water trap, extra fittings, extra pressure
switch.

hell, ill even throw in all my extra House of Kolor paint as well. which is quote a bit!

This is all I can think of at the moment, but I know there is more!

so with all that said, I'm not totally sure what to ask for it, as I know I wont get back what i have into it. including the car itself, i have roughly $35-40k into this car. im obviously not looking to get anywhere near that number. so for now i suppose ill entertain offers, or interesting(non j-body) trades. im interested in a 60-70' Impala, or possibly a 30-40-50's car of any make.

if anyone has any questions, just let me know!

also, NO I WILL NOT PART IT OUT.

ya, hard to believe myself, but this past sunday was the first time I recognized my unhealthy obsession with this damn car, and its time to part ways. a few things happened which appear to be an omen to me, so I gotta at least try and act before i get sucked in more.

also willing to negotiate on offers by taking certain pieces off before sale (ie. rims, tv's, etc)

phlat cav, is that you? haha j/k.....don't do it joe, you probably have one of, if not thee nicest cav i've seen...

just rethink it, you're going to take a big big loss, and lose your pride and joy. then some other twat is gonna get it and beat the piss out of it. DONT DO IT.

lol....ya i figured id get the phlatcav comments, lol. and i appreciate the coments!

i know im gonna take a huge loss, BUT, the longer i own it, the more i will work on it, and the more i will lose. its an inevitable outcome. i love how the car looks, i just cant deal with living like a broke ass, and pissing away all my money on a bottomless pit. after all this work it has started to cause issues with my finances(reserves) and with my fiance', and thats a whole other prolem that i dont want or need right now.

im sure ill never be able to sell it, but here's to trying to do the right thing.

ya i love the car, but everyone has to move on at some point and grow up

So if you were to put it in storage and not show it / look at it daily / lust over it because its not "right in front of you" Would that work on getting your mind of the mods? I know exactly how you feel about the prioritys getting all out of wack... happens to the best of us. Be glad you have realized it before anything life changing (in a bad way) happens to you. But on the other hand ( you have fingers.. j/k) sacrificing such labor and love for the instant gratification that "the cars gone so things will be better" does not sound like the answer.....

i cant beleive your doin this. please dont

Re: FS: Project Silvia

Dude its not going to end with selling it....

I tried that. No offense to you guys but i thought why am I wasting money on a cavalier... It sat, I picked up a stock civic for a DD. Two weeks later had a stereo, month was wheels. Months and a week was suspenison, then lips, then paint, then tint, then turbo..... it never ends. Now I got a jeep and have sank close to 17,000 into it. Had a bike for a few months....

Take this. Try not to work on it as much and see how it goes. Needless to sell, I personally dont think selling it is the answer. Take a different route with it. Drive it, know it will get messed up, but most of all enjoy it!

Re: FS: Project Silvia

i appreciate the comments, but to be honest, none of it changes my mind. i know ill pick up another car and start working on it immediately, but if/when i do, it will be a car that actually will hold some valu. not depreciate by the day.

id ultimately like to take the $ i get from selling, put half as a down payment on a brand new silverado, then the other half will buy me either my 50-60's impala, or my long coveted 39-48 chevy pickup.

and this time around i will not be modding as heavily. not to mention i have a line of roughly 10-15 people who want me and my boy to completely redo their cars, so i can still do the custom work i love doing, i just wont have to deal with all the problems that come along with it

Re: FS: Project Silvia
Tuesday, August 07, 2007 12:44 PM
joe, i was pissed, but then you said 39-48 pickup
do it, do it now, i love your car, but i love old pickups so much more
you wont regret going to an older car
my dad and i sunk so much money into the mustang, but if we were to sell it we would get most if not all of it back
i mean, this is hotness

well you know what im talkin about
it would be sad to see the cav go, but you would be getting an awesome replacement

Re: FS: Project Silvia
Tuesday, August 07, 2007 1:19 PM
they have a big car show over in manchester every year where they shut down main street and its filled with cars
i think its like a mile at least stretch
cars on either side and down the middle
it was this sunday actually
and my god the amount of awesome trucks there was unbelievable
there were a lot of cool/nice cars too
you may wanna look at 3100/3200's too
they are a few years newer but look hella nice
may wanna look at (gasp!) ford pickups from the same year too, but i think im with you, i think for the most part chevy pickups look better
actually scratch that, from 39-48 the chevy's definitely looked better
