just had my subs and amp stolen from my car last night at work .they pop my window out of the weather striping with a screw driver and unlock my door .it sucks now got no bass

but turn around and do the same freaking thing months later...
idk nothign else was taken from my car i had my cell phone ,radar dectecter 12 inch knife,tools and cd and other stuff the cops and i think its some one that knows me cause no else car was broken into only mine but then again mine was the farest away from the front doors . i cant afford that insurance im only 17 . i want to do a new set up in my trunk somethign fiberglass or maybe lay plexi glass over idk

Steps you SHOULD have taken: (most of witch JimmyZ covered):
1. Don't blast your system all over the place... and as for rolling around town with your windows down, other than just the fact that people will get the idea u got some stuff in there...NO ONE ELSE WANTS TO LISTEN TO YOUR MUSIC(this may or may not apply to this situation, but im venting here anyhow)
2. Car Alarm
3. Check with your insurance company about what they will cover
4. Report it, might do nothing, but you never know, report it anyway.
I think it's hilarious that instead of reporting it and checking with your insuance company about the cost of them covering anything in your car on top of the car itself... that you would rather jump right into buying some more stuff, and then whine to US about it.... and if u might know who could have done it, check into it... telling us that your stuff got jacked and u cant afford insurance because your spending more money on more stuff for your car is doing NOTHING for your situation.
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

i did report it to the new york state police .im checking the camera's tomarrow .i dont have collision on my car and i know my insurance company wouldnt pay for it but ill check anyway .i work parttime and am a student my mother is a single parent so she cant afford all that coverage car insurance is a lot in my area .and for the knife im not no bad kid ina gang or something flashing my knife around it stay in the trunk in the box just in case i ever need it for some reason . i kno im going to have to buy a ew system taht why i ask about like fiber glass or plexi glass to not make it so easy to steal it . im not whining im just leting other be more aware of how easy thaey got in my car . i didnt know u could unlock my door that way . oh n8ball2013 i live right across the river og newburgh in wappingers
Next time try allen head screws of one-way screws. Don't use flat-head or phillips head screws.
am i the only one that thinks it would be a fun (and very messy/mean) way of protecting your sub box from being removed, by lining the rear coverners just out of sight, with razor blades?

Hes from Upstate NY...I think pretty much all of us carry our knives with us, as well as our guns in our cars...
I wouldnt go jumping into buying new eqipment just yet man. How about an alarm first?
And yes it is that easy to break into the car. esepically J's. My buddy constantly locked his in the car. But dont feel bad, i can get into pretty much any car in under 5 minutes. No i will not explain how.
i dont have power locks .wouldnt the alarm not go off if someone got in the same way by the window ?
Um no..alarms have sensors for alot of @!#$, trunk being opened, doors being opened, windows being opened, Shock,
From the sounds of it, these guys wern't master theifs, and so they wouldnt have been able to disable the alarm, or wouldnt have bothered for something so small as they only took subs and an amp..
my local best buy has a viper alarm with romote entry for like 250 but i dont have power windows .i know nothign about alarms and how they work . i want somethign to stop ppl from doing what happen to me the other night . if i had power locks if they open my door from the inside it would go off but i dpont have power locks . i want to take every one advice and go with the alarm before i get another system .
im pretty sure with some of those alarms you can buy an additional kit to make them power...but aftermarket alarms dont rely on the locks to detect a break in...im sure that one has a motion and shock sensor which is what you really want
if the thing chirps when you bump it thats enough deterrant some ppl need

Did u ignore what i said...IT DOESNT MATTER IF YOU HAVE POWER WINDOWS OR POWER LOCKS!
It doesnt matter if you have power locks or not, if they open the door from the inside or outside or if they break the window, the alarm will go off..@!#$ you can use a shock sensor so it goesoff while there attempting to jimmy the door locks...

collision has nothing to do w/ it since you didnt get into an accident. you should be able to get theft insurance on your car. when i had my other car and i was pick into systems, i had theft insurance put on my car and it was an extra 10 bucks a month

reading is a lost art.
i have a 2way pager alarm on my car with sensors. if my door is opened then the alarm goes off. i dont have power anything on my car. a car alarm has a brain and in the brain plugs the sensors and the sensors you can put anywhere on the car and set them as sensitive as you like. not having power windows or doors doesnt make a difference.
our cars are very simple to do an alarm in especially with actuators. those will give you power door locks.
