i look in the other regions from time to time, and i notice every other region is allowed to post for sale threads. now i know this will prolly get locked, but wtf
. why can every other region sell stuff, and not NE??

We can make for sale posts for items that we do not want to ship cause they are too large. Small stuff like a shifter or tail lights are not allowed on here cause you can ship them. So no point in posting that stuff in here.

I think the fact that we can't sell things in the regional forums is STUPID! Not everyone wants to ship everything, even the small things. And if its just the NE Region thats dumb too, I've found myself looking in all the other ones for things for sale. I've sold EVERYTHING I had for sale locally by using this forum. I've made probably $3000 and sold like 15-20 things over the last 3 years. Now I have to put it in the classifieds and hope someone local sees it? And not being premium I only have 1 thing I can try and sell. I've wanted to go premium for awhile it just wont accept my cc. But now im having 2nd thoughts. I'm really not happy with the way JBO has been going lately. And im not just talking about people flaming and talkin @!#$ in everyones forums. At least put a Regional section IN the Classifieds.

Not much you can really do, they made their dessision to do this. Though I totaly think that if we want this to be swamped with things for sale its fine, I personaly always check here for things before anything eles.
its not that you "can't" sell things in NE, its that people were getting tired of seeing nothing but new "For Sale" threads by the same people, for the same STUFF!! Instead of just updating their previous post, they'd start a whole new one and it wastes bandwidth besides being annoying. Personally, i don't see why you guys have this allergy to the classifieds, seriously.
for instance, i'm sure if i did a search based solely on username of certain people, for just this forum, 90% of their posts here would be "For Sale" threads.... Philbert comes to mind

the one thing i cant stand are the wanted ads. i mean jesus @!#$ christ just go out and buy the part. maybe theres something i dont see here but it doesnt make sense to me. if i want something, instead of waiting days and days to see if anyone has it, i'll simply go buy it
i think it would be a good idea to add a regional classified section to the classified ads.

Example #1 -- someone posted a thread selling a set of spark plugs. SPARK PLUGS, for god's sake.
Example #2 -- It was being debated to remove ALL for sale ads from this forum, and we counted how far back we would have to go in order to have 25 "normal" threads to appear on the front page. At that particular time, it was page 5.
Example #3 -- Even when repeatedly warned not to, people still reposted the SAME parts for sale over and over again, they repeatedly bumped their posts and ignored every warning given to them. Some even went so far as to complain when they were told to follow the same rules that everyone else had to claiming they were being "singled out".
It was out of control, we tried to get it under control and the people in this forum known for abusing the system basically told us to f-off. Hence the current return to the original spirit of the "regional exception". You can feel free to thank them for your inconvenience.
