I am looking at buying my Jeep this week end and the current owner is located in PA. I needed to get some temp tags so I could drive it back home and possiblly to Ocean City for the new year.
Do yal have any clue how I could get temp tags?
and by the way I am in Maryland. Sorry for the mass replies
contact the DMV for this.
you are limited by driving distance - in other words, you are legally only allowed to drive it from the pickup location, to your home, to the shop that will inspect/legalize it. if you get your posterior in gear you can get all that done before the weekend...

I think temp tags have to be gotten in the state you're from.
I bought my Sunfire from a guy in Annapolis, MD... and I was told that I had to get a PA temp tag to transfer it to PA since I was buying the car.... and I"m from PA. Luckily, the dude I bought it from let his MD tags on to get it up here, and we immediately brought them back down to him afterwards.
Durnit hit post too soon...
Think about it though, why would PA give you a temp PA tag for a car that's going to be registered in MD? I'd call the MD MVA or whatever you guys call it and see what they say.
I am trying to get Temp Tags in MD. But do I need to get them from the MVA or can I get them from a dealer?
good luck getting the tags
just dont come back and make 50 fs posts trying to sell them.

Well in PA you have to get them from the DMV... so I'd guess the MVA would be where you'd have to get them.
Call them and ask

she sounds like she knows what she's talking about. maybe she's tried it before?

Thanks for the help. I actually made a few phone calls and solve the problem.
well when i bought my integra in april basically i bought the car in pa and did everything over at AAA and it was really easy. they switched the title for me and noterized everything there and they gave me a 30day temp tag from pa w/ the car so i could drive it back to jersey. once i had the car back in jersey i just went to the dmv and i gave them the info and pa title from the car and about 3 weeks later i had a jersey title and i was able to go get my tags then i got insurance on it.
I bought my car in new jersey and get a temporary NJ registration to bring it home. The place I got it from took care of EVERYTHING. Cooncidentally 3 hours later I was laying on the ground with a gun to my head for grand-theft auto because they said nothing was done right and technically the car was not mine or something. Then, as I was reaching for the registration papers AKA "a weapon" to prove that the car was mine they yanked me out of the car and cuffed me.

Get them from the maryland mva, they will give you a 15 day tag. In those 15 days it needs to be inspected. You must have insurance on it to, so make sure you know this is the jeep you want.
