They had it in the local paper this past week end that the owner of 75 / 80 is finialy closeing the doors for good. I believe it said this weekend is the last time it will be open.

HURAY for all the stupid ass street racers who ran yet another track out of bizz. I hope you all get caught by the cops and lose your cars.

how is it the ricers fault?

Haha, the only track that my car ran. Beat a POS turbo Eclipse......@!#$ty time too......Damn uphill slope!
Actually the owner sold it to be turned into a retirement community. He had A LOT of offers to sell it as a drag strip but turned them down.
The only problem now is that we will see a lot more street racing unfortunately. People take away legal venues for racing and then complain when street racing increases.
sad but true.

um, yeah...you complain about the track closing, but it was THE crappiest track in the state. that was well known in the muscle community - it's also been well known for the entirety of this season that this would be its last season ever.
just an fyi.

Still sucks. Thats the only track I went to mostly. Personally I liked it, guess cause I knew alot of people there.

Said RACERS NOT RICERS! Geez! I've been hearing it was closeing for some years
now i just think its a shame thats all. I ran my Firebird out there a couple times in fact it was the first track I was banned from raceing at. I'm blameing street racers for the fact if they would have come out to the track and it was very busy he may not be closeing it up now.

but! it was only a 5 minute drive from my parents house, and 15 minutes from my apartment in frederick.
so for me it was close.
i think the owner didn't want to put any money into the investment to fix it, and sold it for the money.
He had more than enough land to build it correctly, just didn't want to.

wrong, its not their fault it's his if any...
if he wanted the business he should have advertised, fixed it up and got out there and tried to get people to come, its no ones fault but his own...
and dont even argue I have a degree in this @!#$.. you cant blame it on the people who didnt come.. it's HIS job to get them to come as a business owner PERIOD

OK lets not turn this into a fighting match now kiddies..................
Hmmm. Me thinks someones panties got bunched. If you've been keeping up with the street racer thing in the war forum you'd understand why I say this. True he needed
to advertise and do work but all the little kiddies thinking they are Vin-Diesel are a big reason why tracks are shutting down. If they have no community support they close up.
And the community they need support from is the ones who insist on street racing.
I just think its a shame its closing and I will blame street racing as a reason he's going under.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
street racing isnt the reason tracks are closing, they should be the reason tracks are opening, the more they take away the less places ppl have to race safely, government is as much to blame for the problem as anyone, the blood will be on thier hands

yeah, explain to me how its street racings fault that tracks are closing? Tracks closing causes more streetracing, not vice-versa... if a track closes its because of bad business decisions, hands down.

Ok, You guys are looking at it backward. I'll try to clear this up for you. Say you own a track and its been around for years its well established and enjoys a decent turn out.
You don't do much advertiseing cause you realy don't need to everyone knows who you are and where you are just like the other tracks in the state. You have a few big time races a year just like the other tracks do and yes you advetise for them. Atendance is good for years. Then slowly people stop coming as much because All the guys who used to run every night are getting older and don't go out as much or have sold there cars or parted them out. This is where the younger guys are needed to step up and take there place. But they think the track costs too much and is too far away so they don't go they go STREET RACEING because Woo Hoo ! its a thrill ( rollseyes ) So now you own a nice chunk of land that your hardly useing and then offers to but that land come in and you think to yourself well atendance is stedily dropping off I don't know where there raceing at but its not here and I sure could use that money..........Screw it I'll sell.
This is the reason tracks are closeing because the can't aford to stay open because all the guys who used to run there are getting older and don't come out and the idiots who think "Street raceing is cool" just won't come out.
Make any sence to you now?

Hold on their buddy. I never said it was the people who race theirs fault. I have no idea what your talking about, or where you drew a conclusion to this with your post. Don't quote my post unless your directly addressing my comment, and your post is not. My degree if half buisness half IT, I know exactly what your talking about. I tryed to say if he actually cared about his investment he would have takent the actions necessary to make it successfull.
Anyone who lives near me knows that place was packed every weekend. There wasn't a shortage of business, and on top of that local shops paid advertising money to have their shops advertised there.

-Chris
The business slow down is the reason given on the news and in the papers. if you say
thats not so because you've been there and seen it packed then its just plain BS on the owners part. If its packed and money is flowing in why say its not? Unless he either
just got tired of it or had a awesome offer on the land both of which are suck butt reasons as now it will give kids no where else to race but on the street. ( shakeshead )
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
if i recall, he got sick of owning the track...and no one really cared about the track, either. it was in poor condition.
Terry, have you ever been there? you speak as if you are a foremost authority on the track itself, but do you have any experience with it?

don't like me?
tell me what you think of me in chat
My experence there is from like 10 years ago. Me and some guys from work would go out there and run on friday nights. Thats the first track I ran 13's, 12's, 11's, and when I sprayed it a flat 10. That BTW is why I got banned from running there. But that was like 6 years ago when I got banned. I got banned I couldn't run so I stoped raceing. I wasn't gonna put a full cage in my car or all the other stuff the NHRA rule book said I needed.
But I didn't street race it either, by that time my car had a reputation and noone really wanted to run me anyway. I miss that car sometimes ( sniff, sniff

)
I wasn't trying to come off as the foremost authority on the track i was just saying its a shame its gone now.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
sorry rascal quoted the wrong person
this still has NOTHING to do with being the racers fault, thats just ignorance, it's his job to attract the yuonger crowd.. adapt and change.. it's called strategic management...
LE61T PTE6262 Powered
/\ /\ /\ Yup I agree. Ignorance on the part of the street racers. If the tracks there and its been there then the only excuse no to go to it is stupidity. I'm not looking to re-hash the whole war forum post about street racing so I'm gonna leave it at that.
BTW. I do try to hit the spell check but I'm at work so sometimes I get side tracked and have to finish the posting. You know what I mean stop acting like an ass that goes for all of you. Your not the spelling police this isn't school and until your perfect stfu.
