I have had my car at THREE different places and they keep picking stupid stuff apart or wn't put my car on the darn lift!!!! I'm getting incredibly frustrated and ticked off!!! I NEED my car inspected so I can go to work!!!!!!
Why not take it to one, fix what they say is wrong & then return there to pass? ...instead of going from place to place.
what kinda stuff are they picking out that it wont pass?

They did.
As far as fixing the stuff... it's minor stupid stuff... but even at that... with JUST starting the new job... I don't have the money right now to fix this stupid little crap they're giving me a hard time about. They were giving me crap about my window handles!?! Since when do they give a crap about window handles??? What does that have to do with inspection?!?!?!
Personally... if you seen my post in OT about what happened with my car... I think they're giving me a hard time because a STATE TROOPER took my other inspection sticker and it's scaring them off, so they're finding the littlest dumbest crap to pick apart so their name isn't on the inspection.
If you didn't see my post in OT... here's the link that explains everything
What Happened
im in maine and have to get mine done im nervous as it is
mines next month. im nervous too...seing as how my strut mount went through the tower. grr

take it somewhere outside of York, as in bring it to lancaster or harrisburgh and have them do it. Window handles is being a bit of a prick.
Window handles IS BULL@!#$ IMO. That has nothing to do with your vehicle properly functioning. As far as I know as long as all mechanical functions of the car are in working order your safe. The light in the bumper maybe a problem. I had those problems up here. Not having any parking/turn signals on the front end of my car.
know how that is. I went to like 3 or 4 dif places. Atleast you didn't get a warning from the cop about the stuff. I had a warning before I got a chance to get my car inspected. Was my own fault but wasn't all done and gas was killing me. minor stuff can be a royal pain.
nikki, if it wasn't such a far trip, i'd say come over here, i have friends that work at Meineke. they passed my car with my screwed up axle, and bald tires. granted one of those problems is solved now, i still have a bad axle, and they still passed me. oh well
come visit, lol

Erik... I just may have to do that. Lemme see who I can find to drive out there with me. Call them and see when they can get it in if you would please... then give me a call. My emissions is already done and I have the papers saying it passed and the sticker.
Call them and call me please! If they could get me in monday and I can find someone to drive my car out there I'll be there!! Actually... I know someone who isn't working and could drive out there with me, just have to get ahold of them. Or... call them, let them know Ill be calling them, and call me and give me their number so I can make an appointment and stuff.
I need to be able to get to work and this crap is getting ridiculous.
Or... if they could get it in today... I'll drive out there when my stuff is done... (gettin fliers made and such)
Letme know Nikki I might be able to go out to Philly on a weekend with You not this weekend though. Maybe next weekend and I thought we had you straight after Thursday night what the hell happened?
This sucks I'm glad we could help you out alittle bit.

The inspection stations want to be jerks about stupid stuff like my WINDOW HANDLES!!!
I kinda need it inspected before next weekend though... Maybe if I can get a hold of Lynn he'll take me out there. If you can get a hold of him tell him to call me before I kill him!!! I keep gettin his voicemail
You didn't answer why you don't pick a place, fix what they don't like & then return to have it pass there. That seems to be the easiest thing to do rather than skipping from shop to shop hopping it'll pass.
The stuff required for inspection is here:
http://www.pacode.com/secure/data/067/chapter175/s175.80.html
I don't see a window handle on there anywhere. However, it may have to do with safety - as in if you go into water, being able to open the window. I know that electric windows don't have that ability, but i know a lot of what is required to pass is based on how the car was originally equipt.

I did answer your question. There's stupid stuff they've been giving me a hard time about... and since I JUST started the new job on Monday, worked Tuesday... then had the car problems Wednesday and am STILL dealing with the problems... I don't have the money to fix the stupid stuff they're asking... unless you know someone who has the extra money to lend me... otherwise I have to go about it another way.
boy, some people like bitch and nit pick about everything lately
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
i got a guy in chester, near the nj/del boarder that will pass any car. you bring it in, your guaranteed to pass no matter what. well unless you have the cel on which pa passed this year for inspections. i use to take my car there since my flex pipe was broke and i didnt wanna pay to fix it, so he hooked me up
yea, chester is right on the del river by jersey. about 10 mins south of philly. its a pretty bad city itself, but thats the only place i could find that would do it for me. i never had a problem there. only thing is you have to be there as soon as they open, its first come first served and they get packed sometime. just mentioning in case you have no other options.
if you wanna take the chance of taking your car into chester, lol, be my guest

I didn't realize that was your answer to my question. I asked because it seems to be a waste of money to go shop to shop & pay for inspection a few times instead of fixing whatever petty things one of the shops didn't like.
For a window crank, why not try a junkyard? There is one near Manheim called J&D Auto Salvage that had a bunch of j's when i was there last year. It's very easy to get to. Their #'s are 717-665-5566 & 717-394-0670, they're open when you're working at your job (most likely) and also Saturdays 8am-noon.
