2004 Cav FT

I have a 2004 5 spd coupe that I am interested in trading.

Some stuff about it:

It obviously has the Ecotect motor in it, which is currently sitting at just under 70k miles. The car is originally from floriday (I bought it maybe 5 months ago and I am its first owner in New England). It is technically a base model. However factory it came with a sunroof, AC, Cd player & tilt wheel). Overall it is in great shape. However being a black car, in the Florida sun it does have some minor clear coat peal on the roof. VIN# is clean it's never been in an accident.

It came with 14" steelies. (The tires are @!#$ on them so I would potentially be willing to put on my 15" alloys that came on my 2002 cav, that have a lil bit of live left on the tires).

Car is completly stock other than the air filter. I replaced the stock airbox with a cone filter for a lil better breathing. I also changed the oil in it right when I got it to Mobil 1 synthetic 5w30 and am about to change the oil again, at exactly 3k miles once it hits 70k.

Why am I looking to trade it?

I am looking for another Cav or Sunfire ovf equal value, (5 spd coupe w/ just about the same mileage), with the 2200 motor in. Sounds crazy? I know. I have plenty of spare 2200 parts and I know the engine inside & out. I would prefer it as a daily driver. If the right one comes along I would trade it in a heart beat...

Overall this Cav is in fantastic shape. It doesnt even have stock licence plate holes on the front bumper. (I have the plate ziptied on).

Varying on comparing the cars (and what yours is worth versus what I paid for mine), possibly lil cash ontop of the 2200 vehicle - gets my lil 2004 ECO.

No, I need a daily driver and I don't feel like looking around to find one. The car has been a great car so I have no need to outright sell it. If no deal comes through Im just fine driving this car for a long time.

I just figured that I'd put the offer out there since Id be happier with a lil 2200 under there considering my knowledge of the engine itself and all the spare parts I have for it.

And I know how everyone else prefers the Eco so who knows if this would end up helping someone else out as well

Haha no need to buy parts unless it needs them. And I will learn if I end up working on it. No big deal. I just have 2200 <3<3

thats a good thing too if you go through with a trade, you'll probably need them.

don't fix what isn't broken. you're asking for trouble IMO.

It's no shock to me that you would say that.

And BTW.... I <3 ya PJ but you know... The only major problem you had with the motor was self inflicted. I, as you know, am running your engine, your head, the same head that gave you problems, the same head that was out of wack when it was given to me. The problem was reversable and easily fixable and that same valvetrain is running like a champ now. I couldnt have asked for better performance out of it.

Its comments like that, especially from someone like you who has done some very respectable work, that make everyone think the Eco swap is the only way.

But at this point, keep spreading the rumors! Id rather less people work on it. Makes the few of us that do build it, have more of an original build, lol. Which is something I'd prefer.

Ill still take my chances with a 2200.

Sorry this is no longer something I am looking for. I have decided to get rid of both my Js. Once I sell my 2002 I will be willing to sell this car outright though.
