Year/Make/Model: 1999 Saab 9-3 SE

Location: Berkley, Michigan

Price: $3500

Mileage: 139,000
-------------

The good:

NOT A SINGLE SPECK OF RUST!!! This car was a New Jeresy car when I purchased it back in September of 2006.

I'm including in the purchase a $180.00 Granite Embedded AudioTroll iPod integration system. This guy will actually scroll the title of the song you are playing across the Saab Information Display (SID). The stock steering wheel controls will also allow you to control the iPod and all of it's functions. The product is currently shipping from the company who makes it (www.granite-embedded.com) but I haven't received mine yet. If you purchase the car before it comes in, I'll send it to you or you can pick it up when it does.

Nearly $800 worth of new parts waiting to be installed:
Front/rear struts
Front/rear rotors
Front/rear ceramic brake pads
E-brake shoes
Fuel filter
Spark plugs
Underbody diffusers
Exhaust downpipe to cat clamp (current one is leaking a little)

16" alloy wheels off of an earlier model Saab 900 have replaced the stock ones since two of them had been bent to all hell by the previous owner.

Headlights were freaking out when the car was purchased. The problem was sourced to a $160 orange relay circuit which was replaced.

The airbag light was on, the horn wasn't working, and the radio controls on the steering wheel were not working when the car was purchased. This was fixed with a new $150 airbag clockspring.

The car was smoking like MAD when I first bought it. This was due to a blown seal on the turbocharger. The turbocharger was rebuilt and is working flawlessly. The car has seen about 10,000 miles since the rebuild. A 2nd turbocharger was initially purchased in case I botched the rebuild. This will be included at no extra cost.

Weather stripping around the driver's side door was replaced. Another $90 purchase.

Driver's side seat control plastic was broken, so I replaced it (~$40).

All the glass is in perfect condition.

No check engine lights and the engine has been maintained with synthetic oil for the past 7,000 miles.

The bad:

The expected amount of scratches and dents after 138,000 are a reality on this car. Not a huge deal if you're looking at this thing as a mileage friendly daily driver like I did.

The oil lines coming out of the turbocharger are dripping a little oil. Retardedly when I rebuilt the turbo, I didn't replace the four copper washers on the two oil lines. This is an easy fix that I haven't gotten to yet.

The Saab Information Display (SID) is experiencing some dead pixels. No big deal since you can still read everything just fine.

This next thing is bad because it's a broken part, but overall it's a good thing. The stock electronic boost controller (or I should say limiter) is not working properly. I've bypassed it with a manual boost controller. Stock boost pressure is around 11psi and fuel cutoff is around 16psi. The car has mostly been set at around 13psi, but has been put back to 11psi due to rising costs of gas.

The ugly:

Passenger fog light housing is missing. I'm assuming the previous owner broke it and then removed it by hand since all of the mounting points for the light are still intact and the lightbulb pigtail is in perfect condition. All you would have to do is purchase a new fog light housing and then bolt it up.

Driver side headlight wiper is broken. The gearing is shot for the electric motor. You can pull one off of ebay cheap.

Rear windshield squirter isn't working. There's probably a clog in the line somewhere since you can hear the electric motor run when it's turned on. Probably a pretty easy fix.

The deal:

I would like to trade if possible. I'm looking for a high mileage 2000-2002 Chevy Cavalier Z24. Manual transmission is highly desired. I honestly don't care how beat to hell the car is. If you have what I'm looking for, I want it.

I'm looking to get $3500 The price is negotiable depending on if you want all of the new parts installed by me or not. Trade in value via KBB is $4150 and retail is $7585, so I think I'm being pretty fair with my pricing.

Be advised, all of the pictures posted are of the junk wheels that came on the car. They are the pics of the car when I first purchased it.

These are the wheels that are currently on the car:

Do you have current pictures of the car?
Can you get me the vin and maybe a carfax?
I'm interested but I would like to talk about it.
This is a 4 door correct?
Do you still have both sets of wheels?

I'll get you pictures tonight. They're pretty much the same as the pics I've posted, except for the wheels. Nothing has really happened asthetically since I've purchased the car. I've taken off the front license plate frame. That's about it.

I'll PM you the vin after lunch. You'll see the vehicle has traded hands a couple times out in New Jeresy and then came to me in Michigan. The carfax report is spotless.

Yes it's a 4 door. The pictures above reflect this. The pictures of the blue car above are of the actual car for sale. The picture of the black car is ONLY there to show which wheels are now on the car.

The original wheels are gone. They were unusable. The tire place couldn't get two of the wheels to balance properly, so they went bye bye.

Still for sale. I'll consider a 1998-2002 5 speed Z for trade.

Still for sale.

Trade for a high mileage 2000-2002 alero would work as well.
