your gonna throw codes when you have it on the settings other than 0.
I dunno why ur getting CEL light, ive heard some have the ets but mine is on constantly so i couldnt tell u if mine does.
you can check ur wires with these pics, took em just now.. in the rain lol(just click em for full size)
and dont worry bout the electrical tape, i have them heatshrinked around my solder area, that peice u see not tight is just holding them together by each other, tight fit so it was kinda hard to get to.

CEL is on even when its off and on 1 and 2, and setting 1 and 2 seem to feel the same to me
