Well what im lookin for is if someone has a junker cav or even a parts cav that the bottom of the 1/4 panels by the door are fine and not rusted.. mine are rusted and even have a thumbsize hole on the driverside(dont ask lol) the junkyard wants $100 for both areas so i figured i'd give this a try..
This is the section peice i need on both sides.. perferably all of the 1/4 panel edges and all.. where in the door jam, underneath, and in the wheel well drill out the spot welds instead of cuttin off those edges.. also make sure there not rusted lol
If anyone has anything lemme know and we can work out pricing and shipping if needed.. i just need to get this rust fixed.
Thanks guys
That's such a small area. I think you could cut it out and weld in a new peice a lot cheaper than purchasing the panel. A body shop should be able to take care of that with no problem. Have you gotten any quotes? It may be cheaper than you think.
Sold 6/30/06.
Well i can do the welding no problem.. its just make the work easier to have the panel all formed ready to go.. to imitate the curve in it and all might be a lil tricky.. but i guess if nothing works out i can try to make the panels..
If that whole panel is rusted then I'd understand. But it just looks like that tiny bit at the bottom. It doesn't seem like it would take that much work to fix. I don't think it would really be noticeable at all?
Where are you located? I guarantee I could find one at a junkyard around here.
Sold 6/30/06.
Logansport, indiana. and yeh the whole panel is rusted.. the paint is bubbled up.. its prolly only half way up on the area selected in the pic.. but when i pushed on it cuz i thought about sanding down the paint my thumb went right through creating that hole.
I'm in West Lafayette right now at school, but theres a huge junkyard with cavaliers/sunfires galore back near my home. It would be a decent drive for you though, and I'm not sure if they would want to just sell you that piece... although they may.
Sold 6/30/06.
let me think, i wonder if my old QP is laying around the garage still, and i wonder if that piece is still good. if so you can have it since you help me out with so much. ill let you know.

Brian its just the pass one right? if so thats still cool just making sure. Lemme know man
On my 95Z the driver side is really a great deal bigger then yours, but my body guy at work said he would just shape a new piece over the panel before cutting up the car...
I just need to find a junkyard around avon/danville IN then I will be set...

well the only part about that is.. i am the "body guy".. and currently not enrolled into my auto body classes till i move to ft wayne.. so i dont have access to many tools.. i have access to a welder and some other basic tools.. but i think it would take a lil work.. im gonna go to home depot and check out some sheet metal but liek i said.. if i could find something already shaped in good shape id perfer that cuz it just makes it a helluvalot easier
but i appreciate the help.. i just wanna get it solved cuz it saddens me seeing this hole in the 1/4 panel knowing it wouldnt be there if i woulda left it alone and i coulda waited it out a lil longer..
