I just have a question,

I am looking for a good quality Car Audio shop near me. I need to get some work done on my car, They don't have to be able to use fiberglass, because that is not what I am looking for. Just a basic clean install, in other words nothing like Best Buy or anything like that.

Somone told me Columbus Car Audio was a good place, any feed back on them?

Columbus Car Audio on brice road in reynoldsburg is a good place. they arent the cheapest place if price matters, but they'll do a clean install. They've done full stereo/navigation installs on my buddies Yukon and S2000. they do nice work.

well, im willing to pay the price for the work, as long as it is worth it.

Mobile Electronics on Morse, huh? I will have to check them out too i guess.

Here is what i want:

2-din Alpine or Pioneer Touch Screen DVD....etc.etc....
New front and rear speakers and amp(s) to power them
2 15" subs. one amp for both, or one for each not sure yet
and of course Dynamat, not the whole car, mainly the trunk and doors.

or should i just do the dynamat myself?

and what are some loud ass 15's out right now? (dont wanna spend an outrageous amount on them though)
looking for SPL and SQ if possible.

Ok I went to Columbus Car Audio, and they priced me at:

Each Kicker L5 15" sub: $399. = $800
One amp for both Kicker 1000 watt: $700
One Clarion indash with touch screen DvD, Mp3,etc: $1000
Trunk and doors done with dynamat, $650 (parts and labor)


so total just for that not including the wires and what not,
or the front and rear speakers or the other amp for them, we are talking about: $3150

is that a good price?

I haven't bought anything car audio related in about 2-3 years. so im a little behind on what is a good price or not.

any input would be great!

My dealership Dan Tobin only uses Columbus Car Audio. If you want to save money I would do the all the full range speakers yourself. I'm sure if you run all the wires you want to use to where the Amps are going to be it would save you money. My next question is have you heard two 15" L5's? I had one 15" L7 with the 1200.1 in my 97 at one time in a ported box. It was great. If you don't want to ever need truck space I say two, but if it is just for you I would use only 1 not 2.

WHOA, ok.. hit up Mobile electronics man... CCA is wayy over priced.. At least youll have another option that MAY be cheaper...
Ive had stuff done there in the past, good guys up there.

It isnt going in a J-body car, it is going in a Lincoln LS, and im pretty sure the trunks are a bit bigger.

But, would 1 L7 be equal to two L5's then? with the 1200 watt amp that is.

Well my 1200.1 came out of the Kicker Van. It was rated at 1628 on the test page in the box. Got to love that I lived in Oklahoma where it was all made. I love Kicker products.

smwklm03- Im not sur which way your going there but it is at the intersection at Morse and Cleveland ave.. If yoru going West on Morse rd, just after you pass Cleveland Ave it will be on your right,, youll pass a shell at the corner, then a little car dealeship, then the big Lincoln dealership and right beside that is Mobile Electronics... Its right in front of Aldis food market..

You can't go wrong with Kicker products. I've loved their stuff and Alma Gates is the nicest lady in entire world. When i used to be into car audio i met her at a show. Absolutley cool as hell. There is a lot of Ohio guys on the board.

stereo limited in canal winchester, by far the best car stereo store around, buy yourself on jl 10 w7, it will hit harder than you will ever need and it will save you trunk space, money, and last longer, jl is by far the best speaker you can buy

A 10w7 is good at about 500 to 750 per sub and beleive me that 1 will out doo a kicker anyday.... I had 3 8w6s in my Z and beat alot of people in SPL drags with alot more than me, Not to mention the Sponsored JL honda Accord wagon with 8 18w8's

And Tom and Jason at Stereo limited will hook you up nicely
