wtf is e-check?
i assume you mean emisisons check.... in northeast ohio we dont have any emissions checks or inspections at all
that's the rumor haven't heard of any updates. turning 21 is expensive down here 23 for new licence 70 for the damn sticker and 20 for e-check I hope it's dead.

What's the future of E check....Ohio's dreaded emission testing program?
Viewers are asking me that question every day!
You may have heard that E-check is scheduled to end next month.
Kentucky ended its tailpipe testing a month ago.
But is Ohio really closing the test centers?
The Ohio EPA tells me yes: The E check contract and funding run out december 31st.
However, the Bureau of Motor Vehicles is warning drivers : Don't skip your December test!
The BMV tells me some centers will remain open through January for december stragglers.
That means if you are due for a December E check, you can't just wait till January 2nd to renew your plates.
You'll still have to get your car tested in January, according to the BMV.
But for everyone else, it's over!

Yup. Northern Ky ended theirs as of October 31, Ohio's is gone December 31.

Were do you live? I live in northeast Ohio in Lake county, and we had E-checks.

lucky you guys... in VA we have dreaded inspections... where they look at everything... lights, tires, suspension, ect... they used to even measure tint... now next year they are lookin to do emissions testing also... exhaust sniffers for ODB1 and ODB1.5 and using the ODB2 port for ODB2

i cant wait for it to be over with, every other year they always tell me my car is to low to put on the rollers, and they tell me to bring it back with the stock springs on. i argue with these people every time i go there. it always puts me in a bad mood when i have to have my car tested

I was just talking with a guy that I work with that lives in the Medina area. He said that he's heard that there will still be E-checks, but you won't have to pay for them. Supposedly, the state of Ohio will be covering the costs of all checks. But that's all word of mouth. That'd be nice if they just got rid of it. I wouldn't have to worry about it coming out my way.
Update: I was given a link today at work. Sorry I don't have it now cuz i didn't have time to post at work. Said that e-check will be dead in ohio EXCEPT the cleveland area from what i remember (i read it quick). The article goes on and says that the state is trying to fund it to so that you don't have to pay.
I'll try to get that link monday when i'm at work.
Yep still having E Check in the Clevland Akron Area so if you are in that area and have E Check now you will still have it. More than likely. Just us Dayton and Cincy Peeps got rid of it. LOL
