Hey Kenny thanks for posting over here. Any of you folks who own Pontiacs and live within 200 miles of Norwalk really ought to be there. Heck, this will be my 10th year in a row, and I drive 450 miles EACH WAY to attend (and it's worth it!). This is the largest all-Pontiac show and race in the world. Last year there were over 1000 Pontiacs (and GMCs) there. The show is great, and so is the racing (including a FWD class that is dominated by Grand Prixs, help represent the J-Bodies in the class with me!). The entire event is done first class. If you come once, I know you will be back!
Let me know if you have questions, or go to www.pontiacnationals.com.

Hey gang, only 13 days to go. Who all plans to be there? If you don't come, you have no idea what a great event you are missing. Go to www.pontiacnationals.com for details.

i'd like to go, but theres no way my car will be ready
Considering how many Pontiac J's there must be in the area, this response is pretty disappointing.
Only a week to go and it sounds like it will just be me and Kennie. Oh well, those of you who miss this will be the ones missing out. I sure hope we get alot of last minute folks to show up.

Kennie,
It's a big event, but not that big. I'll be easy to find in the staging lanes. A bright yellow Sunbird stands out in a crowd! If I don't see you there, I'll look for you on the show side of the track.
Later!

kennie i hate you
)i cant go cuz i have work
Kennie, if I was home that weekend, you could stop by, I'm like 15 minutes directly south of the raceway. The road that the pit entrance is on runs almost to my house. I'd like to go, but I got a family thing in Layfette (sp).
kennie I'll be there for sure what time you heading down sat
Coop: Umm not clue when i will head out there...i am guessing around 12?? Depends when the show opens cuz I want to get a decent spot to park my car. So for right now I will be there around 12.
Joe can you post what times the show starts??? Thanks

According to the Pontiac Nationals site "Saturday - All cars on the field by 1:00 p.m. should be judged. Judging is scheduled until 5:00 p.m."
You might want to try to be there by 11:00 instead of 12:00, if possible. That way, you will still get in (and get a good space) if there are lots of last minute arrivals. Cars are judged Saturday or Sunday, and then awards are given out on Sunday.
Coop8392, glad to see that someone else will make it! Are you going to be in the car show, race (both?), or just spectating? If you are racing, you would want to be there ASAP on Saturday morning so you can get a time trial or two in before eliminations start in the early afternoon.
See you both in a few days!
Later!

was unable to attend this weekend due to death in the family. Next year I will be there.

Kennie,
Sorry to hear about the death in your family. Obviously, family comes before a car show. I hope to meet you next year.
The event was the biggest yet. I heard that there were over 1000 cars there between the show and race. There were absolutely no other J-Bodies in the show, in fact I didn't notice anyone registering for the LM-Compact Class, so if some Sunbirds or Sunfires had been there, it would have been a J-Body only class. The only other J-Body there was in the race with me. Kevin was racing a '89 Turbo Sunbird. He did pretty well (3rd round I believe) on Saturday, and I made it to the final 4 on Sunday (after losing in round 2 on Saturday). The FWD class was full of Grand Prixs, with us 2 Sunbirds, and a pair of Grand Ams (1 turbo, 1 supercharged, both running 13s) to round things out .
I believe that the 2006 event will be Aug 4-6, so mark your calendars. I hope a bunch of you will be there next year!

yeah family first before anything....would of been pretty cool to be there with my car, being that I would of been the only one with my car like that there hahahaa. Well next year I will attend if nothing comes up.
