I got a 086 head laying around. Only has 62k on it straight from the factory. my 2.4 ld9 should be able to handle that cylinder head?
seems like such an easy upgrade. supprised more people don't do it. maybe thats a bad sign though.
you need tuning...i've done it
but had issues and then spun a rod bearing shortly after
why not just run a 2.3?
I would.

well I don't like the roguhness, and persistent buzz sound coming from the engine. sounds like a chainsaw or something.
LOL

An, 086 head, on a 2.4 bottom end. with 8.5:1 pistons would be interesting though.
Then you have to tweak the engine management a little.
.....................................
and you would be at less power then a 1989 LD2
YAAYAYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
(picture i say that for an hour.)
YAYAYAAYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
OR YOU COULD JUST RUN A 2.3.

Didn't you post in my build thread...
(I can only see that Final CR being beneficial for a Turbo application)
My Cav
I give up...
i'm buying a VW those people love trees, so they should love eachother too... "Andy"
no way comp would be 10.5. the 086 on a 2.4 adds 2 points.
and 10.5 is high?

the 2.3 is 10:1 and it says "premium fuel reccomended" on the dash.
I don't think there has been many 086 head swap success stories anyway.
like you said might as well just put the whole 2.3 engine in there.
I wonder if some how you could use a 95 2.3 lower ( with the balance shafts ) and turn it back into an HO.
call me crazy but I like the balance shafts and how smooth it makes things
if you did, it would be dumb.
but a HO in there, bend your PS lines to use the other pump, and enjoy better gas millage, and a faster car.
trust me.

hmmm and the 98 2.4 tranny bolts right up to the 2.3 block?
I want to push 30 psi turbo through a 2.3. you think i'm gonna be alright?
what is everyone's thing with PSI, thats not the important thing here. CFM is.
all Quads have the same trans bolt pattern, but i would NEVER use a 95-99 trans, the easy way would be to get a NVG tranny, bolts up, and is strong.
