I was wondering something. I noticed that there are a few people around here from the Tinley Park/Orland Park area. Do any of you guys actually hang out, or is it more so just a show off each others car and go home kinda thing? I'm from Worth, so I'm pretty close to people in that area, so I was just curious? I haven't seen anyone's Cavy or Sunfire with a J-Body sticker, so I'm just assuming I haven't been in the right place at the right time? I was just wodnering if people here have actually hung out with each other or what not?

well u know me and Andrew, i live out by orland and andrew lives in alsip but im out that way all the tiem and we are all ways cruisn and haning out

I live about 30 min. away and try to make it to meets when my car isn't in the shop!

yea me and eric hang out almost everyday and we hang out with fatalic cavi and some others everyonce and awhile

Andrew lives in Alsip?? Thats right by me, lol. In fact, its the town next to Worth, lol. Orland is like 10/15 minutes away from me too, lol. When are there meets, or are they stopped until Spring? I don't know, I think it'd be cool to actually meet people from here.

I only go to Orland during the summer. I'm up in the NW burbs, so it takes me a good 40 minutes or so to get down there. Not worth the drive to hang out for an hour in the cold.

If anything, where do the meets usually take place? I always see car groups in the spring/summer at the Steak an Shake in Tinley, but it just looks like muscle car people most of the time. I see a lot of Mustang's, Camaro's, TA's, etc. Hell, I'm in a Cavalier so I can't see myself going up there to be like "hey guys! how are ya?!". They'd probably give me this exact look ---> , and then just make me leave, LOL. I don't really see any cavy meets or import-type of meets around.

That's where the Cav's go Early half of the summer we were in the far end of the parking lot next to S&S, but later in the summer we moved to the middle of the lot in front of Aldi's.

OP changes every year as far as where people meet up. Years ago there was this eatery named mike's place and that swas the spot, then it was value city's now it's steak n shake. We wont really know where the hot spots will be till next year. Steak n shake was kind of deying at the end of last year. The muscle cars split and went to franks nursery which is now advanced auto parts. I have a feeling next year there will be a new hot spot.

FYI, for the future you'll want to use titles more like "Local People, Orland Park" or something There's like 3 or 4 states in Mid-Central

And Matt, I've gone to S&S for two years now. Seems to be a popular spot b/c it's big & for the most part, cops don't go there. Yea, sometimes they'll cruise thru & check out the cars (like Eric's!! hahah, that was pretty cool) but they don't kick people out till pretty late, or if there's fights, etc.

No s*it! I think I remember seeing a Cavy meet by that Aldi's and Steak and Shake. Now I actually have a car to go there with, lol. When I saw those meets before, I was in my 93 LeSabre, or I'd drive past in my friends 89 Supra Turbo.

I notice the cops by those Steak and Shake meets often though. Usually because the people leave the parking lot an absolute mess, lol.

Paul they did start kicking people out early at the end of the year. The weren't as bad as it was back when it was at mikes place but it did start to get annoying. The end of the year is when they tend to do thath the mosst though.

I see. I pretty much stopped going down there in like August or maybe September. I wasn't going every week like earlier in the summer.

in the summer, j body meets are pretty much every month at random places. Orland hasn't had one yet, but i might host one, I was suppost to do it last summer but some stuff came up. All the J's in the orland area are pretty much always up for something pending on schedual and weather. All you really have to do is just im/ call one of us and get the ball rolling.

Well perhaps I get some AIM names or some phone numbers and get it rolling sometime, lol

Well, mine is Exodus259 on AIM just so ya all know. No, I don't have Nextel. Didn't know anyone at the time that had the chirp stuff, so I didn't bother

^ Now you'll know many. I think at least 1/2 of the Chi-town J's have Nextel Myself included.
