I am working on replacing the head gasket and eventually the heater Core on a 95 Cavy OHC. I have take as little off as possible. There is one I would guess bolt that is holding back my ability to lift the Head of the block. It is on the passenger side of the motor. It has to be on the side or back of the Head. I can not find it for the life of me.

I was wondering if any of you local guys have done this before. I have the motor support, the brace disconnected, the head gasket, headbolts, lifters, rockers, alternator, plug wires, plugs, header, removed. I think that is it at this time. The only thing I could think of would be that brace that is screwed into the head and possible the block by the Power steering pully. To get that off I would really have to remove the pully.... ya that is not happening at this time.

I don't know what the next move on this would be. The chiltons manual has been helpful, but at this point.... well its about ready to be tossed about the garage! I don't want to guess and only damage the car more.

The car has 106K or 108K miles on it. It has been a pain in the but. It has gone through 5 or 6 heater cores in the same amount of years too.... Thank goodness the dealer has had warrenty this every time. Though this past time was blamed on the head gasket causing excessive pressure through the cooling system...

I have not bought any parts yet for the car because I want to be able to get it apart first. Once it is back together it will be my daily driver

i have done a 2200 as far as i know its about the same, I am going off the assumption that the power steering is on that same side. I had the same problem with my head coming off, turns out that the bracket that holds the power steering pump bolts to the block, your best bet is to remove this bracket completely.
