My question is can u put a vortex head on a 2000 cavalier I've read it has been done before but on a 95 cavy just wondering if it'll produce any power and if it could be done

I don't believe you'll make power from it.
You'd be better off doing a port and polish on a spare 2200 head. That makes good gains on a 2200.

ok thanks for the tip I'll hit up a local junk yard and find a ln2 head is it pricey to port and polish ..... Reason asking I'm on a $5000 dollar budget and still haven't got any ideas on building the block I'm clueless when it comes to motors lol

Make sure to grab a 2200 head. ID prolly grab a 2k up so you don't run into minor differences. A cam and port and polish does that motor wonders and is one the largest bottle necks of it.
If you have a budget of $5000 id look into building a small turbo kit. It can be done fairly easy with that budget and will make much more power then you ever will N/A.
Depending on what you are trying to do, I would just buy turbo parts and boost a stock motor.
Unless youre going for the crazy over 275 or so whp goal, stock motor will work so long as its tuned well.
I built a half-ass turbo kit for less than $5000 on a stock ln2 and it made pretty good power till I put the built motor in the car.

We'll I found a Hahn race craft turbo kit for $3699 but that is cutting close to my budget do u think a eBay kit would be worth spending around $500

but the hahn kit was made off our platform and will contain everything you need. Ebay is just a bunch of universal junk thrown together.
