In the process of swapping out the blown motor in my 95 cavalier. 2.2ohv. I picked up another 2.2, but from a 96-97. I was told by multiple places that i just dont have to plug in the cam sensor.
Well now that im prepping the new motor to drop it, I discover that cam sensor is in the way, and even when I take if off, I don't know what I should do to block it off.
Not only that, the coil pack bracket wont bolt to the block because of where it sticks out for the cam sensor?
What do I do to make this motor work in my car.
1994 Pontiac Trans Am 6-speed
Vortech V1 @ 7psi, Eagle rods, Low compression pistons, Comp Cam, Ported Heads, Roller Rockers, Ported Intake Manifold, Holley 58mm TB, 42# Injectors, MSD Optispark, MSD Coil, F.A.S.T ECU, Crane Cams Ignition, Mid-length headers catless, Hurst shifter, Adjustable panhard bar, ZR1 wheels. She gets the job done.
all you have to do is leave the cam sensor unpluged the pcm wont look for it and there wont be a wire in your harness either
you also have to switch out the housing that holds the EGR on the transmission side of the motor as 95 is a vacuum egr and the 96-97 is electric

As for the ICM/coil pack bracket. Use the 97 bracket with the 95 control module
