With all the new "green" oils hitting the market in the last few years, I started to wonder if they could perform in performance applications as good as the conventional and synthetic oils that have been on the market for years.
To find out we set up a little test. 5 oils, 2 cars, 1 dyno....1 RESULT.
We plan to get as many different oils as possible and compare them directly with each other on a dynamometer. Each car will get an oil fill with each of the different oils and a fresh filter between sessions on the dyno. We will be testing them for horsepower and torque figures, viscosity before and after, and a couple other things that should help us determine just how good these new oils are.
Once all of the oils have been run through, we'll compile all of the data into a cool article and video that anyone can understand, not just a scientist.

www.getg.com is the first company to step up and request to be included in this test. We will be testing their Street 5w30 and Racing G1 oils which are ASTM certified as "Ultimate Biodegradable" meaning they have to degrade a minimum of 60% within 28 days of being put into contact with organic bacteria.
