I just started to pick up some bolt on's for my car but I can't decide on what header I wanna go with, I'm set on gettin a rksport dual exhaust but the header is undecided because there so many options, and loudness leads to tickets here (horse @!#$) anyway give me some ideas , let me kno what worked for u guys

y r u set on dual exhaust for a 4 banger?
Vibrant makes a nice single cat back system, larger than most being 2.375" (magnaflow/RKsport is only 2.25")

always wanted dual exhaust, I love the look and its a thing thats been big in my community for years and with my j-body guys( we put duals on pretty much everything with 4 wheels) , my last Cavalier had the single exhaust so I want duals this time and Vibrant does make a good exhaust, if they had duals I'd buy it lol

I love my duals and i dont care what anyone says i think it just make sence to have more airflowing out the exhaust then just one pipe even tho we have 1 header, why not let the exhaust expel more gases freely wit 2 exhaust. I just fig it breath better at higher rpms thats all

Y not???? pretty much every new car thats out and has a sport model has duals and didn't sunfire gt's come with duals , Z24's never had them so thats y I want duals on a 4 banger even though I see ur point, its a look thing for me

Sunfire GT had fake duals. Second tip was just for show.
well no it wasnt fake as ive had the GT exhaust on my old 98 sunfire

Oops, didn't realize that. Just going by what I've read/seen.
i was just curious because on a 4 banger your'e just adding weight.

I kno that theres no way to put real duals on a 4 banger unless u use a camaro type muffler( 1 in and 2 out) even thats not real, and the sunfire gt duals have what I call DUMMY DUALS , their nor real unless their from DUAL HEADERS back , a 4 only has 1 header so how r they real???? Y pipe is fake, X pipe is real or straight headers back, to me anyway but everybody has an opinion
Skr8 Goodz in tha hood
they just put the dual exhaust on the sunfire gt to make it look a bit sportier, not for any other reason

Not exactly true . . . you could do a custom split manifold that has dual 2 into one pipes.
That would give you a true dual exhaust. However that is highly impractical but not impossible.
Whats up people?

That would classify as true duals but like u said it highly impractical and until someone does it, 4 banger dummy duals it is lol, tell u the truth though I like to see that @!#$, it would be almost like V6 VTEC headers but smaller and weird lookin

It doesnt work that way. You might have 2 pipes behind the axle, but you still have one 2.25" pipe under the car. Dual exhaust holds absolutely no performance advantage. Exhaust only flows as well as the smallest pipe. Your duals will never flow as well as a 2.5" single exhaust.
its an old concept. time for something new to take the reigns. - Z yaaaa

And thats y I only want them for looks, I want power don't get me wrong but only like 250 whp probably supercharger stage 2 at the most.

If yoiu're just doing it for looks, just hang a tip ther with no pipe going to it. I dont know why youd do it for looks, I laugh my ass off every time I'm behind one of the neons with dual exhaust because it looks retarded on such a small car.

It's not even a tru duel. It splits and you get nothing but the look, thats all. Ive heard the Magnaflow and it is TERRIBLE! loud and raspy. IF you want to be head 5 miles away, thats what you want. try to put resonator in line to quiet it up, it might help with backpressure too. I guess it jsut depends on your set-up and your choice of components. Good luck anyways.

I KNO it's not true duals, thats old news, thats y I said its a look thing but at least u have some advice on the issue unlike some people, but I also heard single exhaust ecotec Cavaliers, Cobalts, etc and unless they were just a muffler (no header), they were all loud as hell, but I can say that I was researching the resonator bit because of db factor.

I can't believe this is still going.
Let the man have his duals if that's what he wants.
The RK setup will sound loud and raspy from all that I've read about their dual exhaust setup.
If anything, a muffler shop can do this for you and add a resonator or two just aft of the cat to help calm down the sound if that's what you choose.
You'd have a better setup because it's custom and you can choose what mufflers you want right there at the shop.
Since you're doing this for show and not too much for performance, I'd still suggest you get something in the 2.5 inch range because when they crush bend the exhaust to fit, you'll lose some of the inside diameter, and the larger size will make up for the lost sizing from the bends. So go 2.5 inch at a muffler shop, have them install it the way you want, with the tips, and mufflers you want.
That's just a suggestion since at a muffler shop you can tailor it the way you want and don't have to spend the money on something premade that you may not like.
Good luck with it.

Thank you Dave and JBO!
christ people we know they are for looks, damn. Everyone gets their panties in a knot when someone wants to put a y pipe on something. And weight saving? lol the wight of that piece of pipe and mini muffler might shave a billionth of a second off that street car. Plus theres always someone that takes it literal.
Sunfire GTs had a 70/30 exhaust flow split. I like how the duals looked on those cars. It fit well with the bumper.
