I blew the motor up in my 03 cavalier, so i picked up a new motor at a junk yard. It is out of an 02 grand am with a 2.2 an 39k miles. The guy said the motor is a direct swap. the only thing we found that was different was the motor mounts and the fuel rail on the front looks different. We have the motor all hooked up and all it does is turn over, but wont fire. Should i swap the fuel rail from the blown motor to the new motor? the plugs and everything hooked right up, it just looks a little different.
I bought my 03 with a bad motor and i swapped in a motor out of a grand am also. I just d/c the fuel lines and used the grand am fuel rail and injectors and the car fire right up. The rail off my original motor wouldnt bolt up.
k thanks.. guess i'll triple check all my sensors, plugs, and grounds.
