so i have been working at my father in laws shop for the last year and I now have extra money to swap out the motor in my 99 cav. i'm looking for ideas for what to put in there. I'm going to start racing the cav in local autox races.

You're going to need to be a little bit more specific to get any real suggestions...

What kind of power are you looking tot out of the car? Whats a realistic budget for you?

If you don't have a budget, find a way to shove a dodge viper motor into a cavalier. You would have one hell of a fast cavalier, and would piss off so many viper fans. Not to mention V8 has been done... so someone needs to go V10.

Since I sound like a complete ass in that last post, let me clearify.

My suggestion is to decide on a swap based on your budget. If you get carried away and run out of money to throw into the car, the swap may never get done.

If you don't know what your options are, look into the third gen forum. There are a few good faq's on some swaps.
