Anyone wanna help build ecotec exhaust
Tuesday, April 01, 2008 9:16 PM
Im driving an 04 sunfire LS

i would like to re-do my exhaust, but need a little help piecing it together

I would also like to turn it into dual exhaust.

Pacesetter ceramic coated header is a definite, and perferably everything else MAGNAFLOW

i was also thinking of going with 2.5" setup, only other engine mod is a ram air intake, no others planned

if someone can offer advice on what components to use, (part numbers would be appreciated)

Thanx in advance, Jay

from what ive heard, if your not turbo'd, your better off going with 2.25" instead of 2.5 due to exhaust velocity.

Mods : Nothing yet....
taking the 2200 out of the cavy and throwing it into the sunfire, taking the 3100 out of my friends GrandAm and throwing it into the cavy. XD Definatly a work in process...

If you have no other engine mods planned, then go with 2.25". It will flow enough on a stock engine. A 2.5" would actually be overkill. If you want duals and magnaflow, then just get the magnaflow dual system and a resonator.

Come to Port Byron, NY. We can hook you up with a good priced 2.5" SS cat back with dynomax super turbo muffler installed.

looks like a decent muffler. http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd.asp?zone=main&id=6937
Its chambered so thats key to a non raspy/Honda-ish sound. So IMO your good to go. Scoop up 2 of those bad boys and buy 2-4" tips. Now whether your going to do this yourself or get someone to install it for you is another question....as for the piping, im not sure of the shops around Woodbridge but I know someone in the Canadian Mid East forum could help you out with a good shop in the T.O area to fab this up for you. You should also look into geting a resonator of some sort. Probably atleast 14" in length if not larger. Hope this helps.
