What size bolts are needed to mount it to the plate?

hmmm... maybe try using your tranny bolts, unless they arent long enough.....

Or if they werent.....holding the tranny in my current motor fool, this is for my spare motor and I'm not going to tear into my car right now

take one of the longer ones out, see if it will work... if its not long enough go to your local hardware store and get some longer ones but with the same thread.

done and done.

If you cant bolt the motor to the stand , What makes you think you can rebuild it ??? bolting the motor to the stand is nothing .. rebuilding the motor and putting it back together correctly is a hole different story..
